Posting that other thread made me remember this that I planned to post on here the other day. I think anyone that watched the Paxman and Russell Brand interview will want to and should watch this (I'm looking at you Kizzy, Stu and Zee...maybe even thetruth and joeysteele too), it's relevant and an intriguing concept.

Basically, I stumbled on this after Russell himself retweeted someone who sent this to him, gave it a watch and I don't know how I've never heard about this guy before, his name is Jacque Fresco, he's 97 and has spent most of his life creating and designing an idea (including the blueprints, models and artist impressions) for a revolutionary society. As an outspoken social critic, Fresco advocates global implementation of a socioeconomic system of social cooperation, technological automation, and scientific methodology, which he refers to as a 'resource-based economy.'

Fresco proposes a radically different society, where ownership of material possessions is unnecessary and where buildings are created in factories by automation. According to Fresco his city designs are aimed to improve daily life and improve the standard of living for everyone. His proposal is for a world wide system of resource control based on a science approach.
