Friendship

What qualities do you look for in a friend?
Do you have any good stories of how you met your best friend?
What's your favourite thing to do with your friends?
Would you rather go out/stay in with a group or just a couple of mates?
How good of a friend do you think you are?

When I met my best friend, I couldn't stand her. She was introduced into our group by one of the lads (who I was madly in love with at the time) as his new girlfriend. I hated her. Then one day we were due to meet in the town centre and my best friend at the time didn't show up so it was just me and her. We talked and walked about a bit and 20 years later are still best friends. (It turns out my "best friend" at the time was nothing if the sort). We've been through some awful times individually but always been there for each other.

Most of my friends have been my friends for years. I love my friends dearly.

Well I have 2 best friends, one I met when i worked in a pub in town and we met through another friend, we all used to go on holiday together then the 1st girl we fell out with but me and the 2nd one remained best friends.
The 2nd best friend we again worked together this time in a packaging factory, one person had to glue the parts to cardboard packaging ane the other person stuck them down, the person that glued the parts did so with a wallpaper scraper and there was a knack of doing this, my friend showed me on my 1st day and she ended up with glue in her hair, i was also ill with the smell of glue on my 1st day, after about a week of working together we actually got separarted as we laffed so much.

qualities id look for is for them to be there when you need them, Id rather have a good night out with a group of mates than stay in, and I think Im a very good friend.

as you get older I think your circle of friends gets smaller, and your left with only a couple of real friends that you can be at your most vulnerable with.
who you know wont judge you, and will give you support.

I have quite a few friends, but my three best friends are more like sisters to me now.
My longest standing friendship is 40years old, the next two are nearer 32.
My oldest friend knows me from our wild child years, we "experimented" life together.
The next two were sister in laws to each other, met them a few years later when I had settled down and married.
I could tell them anything ( but I don't) and I know everything there is to know about all three.
Great girls.

:joker:You got a friend in Jesus.

I'm a great friend, except when it comes to keeping in touch and so have lost some along the way. I can be a bit of a loner as well though and enjoy my own companyl

I have two friends that I consider my best friend, one of them though similarly I didn't like a lot when I met first and again it was a bit of jealousy on my part, not over a guy but over my best friend at that time (who would still be my best friend but she died) Me and and my best friend were put in different classes when we were around 11, we were inseparable prior to that and this girl becomes her best buddy in her new class and I didn't like that at all, a year later my best friend moved away and me and this other girl used to get together to meet up with her sometimes when she made the trip up and we started getting closer and we ended best friends ourselves and still are to this day

I have a couple of really good friends ,but a large circle of acquaintances ,I think too many friends is not a good thing as I always find someone wants to be a twat,,in a friend I look for loyalty through good and bad, someone I can trust and confide in and there aren't too many of those about,It takes me a while to get to know people but once I do,i hope I am loyal to them and will be there for them,I also want a friend to be able to take advice whether they like it or not and criticism as I would.if someone betrays me I find it hard to go back.

I met my best friend on my first day of secondary school. We were on our way to a lesson and we were being herded towards the classroom by a prefect I think and he comes up to me and says "I hear [teacher's name] has a really funny voice" - my best friend's voice had already broken (age 12) :joker: so I was like wtf if you think this guy has a funny voice then I can't even imagine what it's gonna sound like!

Anyway, fast forward 10 years and we still hang out. We even lived together for two years. We're not as close now but I did see him last night and the night before because he's down here doing some stuff, we just tend to catch up when we're in the same city rather than maintaining a long distance friendship which is kind of sad in a way but at least we still have contact.

I've got quite a wide circle of friends, but there's only one of them that I tell absolutely everything, and that's my sister!
Over the years, our group of friends have ditched the bitches and we're now left with a pretty great group of girls.
