Rihanna: "Tamera is a star"

Rihanna has reportedly backed X Factor hopeful Tamera Foster, tipping her to be a global superstar.

When asked about the 16-year old singing sensation - who has been likened to RiRi in the past - the Pour It Up singer is quoted by The Daily Star as saying: "I got sent a link of her after she sang one of my songs at Boot Camp and I have been watching her ever since.

"The shows need to produce a superstar every two or three seasons to give them credibility, and she is already there in week five or whatever it is.

"Simon [Cowell] is a smart guy, he will know she can sell records all around the world and will sign her to his label."

She continued: "Tamera looks great, she has an amazing voice, and she has just the right amount of attitude."

Rihanna is also said to have commented on Foster's rumoured romance with fellow XF contestant Sam Callahan and her previous drug use, insisting it will not damage her future career.

The Diamonds hitmaker apparently claimed: "I really don't think it matters at all whether Tamera has made one or two mistakes in her past.

"Show me somebody who hasn't and I will show you a liar. All that matters now is that she works hard and gets where her talent means she should be."

If Simon has any sense he'll sign her up as a surprise guest for the final.http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...r/ccd10a8e.gif

Pulling out all the stops. She must be sinking badly with Votes

I was just thinking that. I do like Tamera, but she's just not very popular with the voters, which is a shame. She does have talent. :suspect:

Saph 13-11-2013 07:35 PM

lbh, she wont win, but she definitely has potential to be a star (as riri said)

There is no truth to this as James Arthur hit bottom 2 last year and went on to win.

True, but i just don't think Tamera can win. It's just a feeling i have.

MeMyselfAndI 13-11-2013 07:39 PM

Tamera's not going to win, It's between Sam Bailey, Nicholas & Rough Copy

Samm 13-11-2013 07:41 PM

If Nicholas wins :bored:

Vanessa 13-11-2013 07:44 PM

I sure hope Nicholas doesn't win. But i don't mind Sam B. i like her.

Tom4784 13-11-2013 08:05 PM

She probably won't win at this point but she'll probably be the only successful contestant from this year apart from possibly Rough Copy.

alex_front2 13-11-2013 08:06 PM

Tamera and to lesser extent Luke are the only hopefuls who have any potential to be stars but neither will win or get to final (they would have to save tamera almost every week to keep her in). Sam C is too generic "hunky lad", he lacks a USP to be be a popstar (E.g Harry Styles hair, cougar love sctick etc), Rough Copy are too camp and as much as I like them, they will only work in UK, no chance in Us, hannah sadly is too black to be a female star, Nicholas is the love child of Joe McElderry and Leon Jackson and marketed as sweet non threatening choir boy grannies in Motherwell and Inverness will love)

Tamera will be a star and her likability will be redundant. Kanye West is an egomaniac, but his music is very popular. People who bang on about popstars being unlikeable and therefore not viable imo tend to be the type who love dullards Joe McElderry and worship Cliff Richard and MOR overlord Josh Groban.

Tamera's bad PR will only hurt her on X Factor but probably be an advantage in terms of having a career post X Factor and what the haters need to get their heads around is winning X Factor is no longer important, it's having a career after it.

Sam B decent voice nice lady good mum no star quality whatsoever. She is simply too old, and old fashioned, frumpy and of no interest media wise. Music is a young persons game. It's not like the 1980s where 1970s stars like Tina Turner could continue their career in their 30s and 40s. Yes, I know Bowie came back this year (ace) but it's mainly for old fans buying album. Album sales are dead, its all single downloads etc.

Teenagers buy singles, they won't en mass buy anything by Sam B. Sam B, Miley or Rudimental, they won't go for Sam B (unless buying for their mums on mother's day!). The media wont be interested in Sam as she's a married mum of 2. Mums Beyonce, Pink and Lily Allen started their careers single and fancy free.

I know Luke is unlikely to win, but he's my favourite there and i would love to see him in the final. :)

Vanessa, I like Luke, too but Louis prefers Nick ( Nick is Westlife in a jar) so I think Luke won't make final. Nick's voice is pitch perfect but bland whereas Luke's voice is rougher, dirtier and way more distinct and interesting.

I think the only way to get him to the final is to vote as much as we can. So that's what me and the other Luke fans will do. Last week we all pulled together and managed to get him through. So it can be done. :)

alex_front2 13-11-2013 08:23 PM

Good Vanessa, but I do think the bottom 2 beckons for Luke and funnily enough he needs to be against either Sam C (Gary, Nicole and Sharon will keep him) or Hannah (she will do her big belter sing but b2 appearance #3 will tell the judges she doesn't connect with public).

If we keep voting like we have he might not get to bottom two.

I doubt she actually said that

I like Tamera, but there's still something missing there. Not sure what.

GiRTh 14-11-2013 08:55 AM

Just like the Story Louis planted about Sam c giving up music, this story may backfire and the public stop voting for Tamera.
