The Nuisance Law

Apparently Her Majesty's Govt. is to vote on a new law that will ban anyone causing a nuisance. It will effectively make demonstrations illegal.

Kizzy 18-11-2013 12:16 AM

That's not very democratic is it?...

MTVN 18-11-2013 12:21 AM

Causing a nuisance is already against the law isnt it, I remember that guy who interrupted the boat race being charged with it

I don't know specifically what charges he was done for, but this new law which is to be voted on is open to any interpretation. The right to protest is being criminalised.

Seems despite totally ignoring all the protests and stuff of late..they actually are getting to the government. Interesting ;)

Don't pose a question if you're going to answer it anyway, chief. Nobody likes an "I'm enlightened and your not" approach and it is certainly no way to get people listening to you. You are no John the Revelator so tone that dross, preoccupied shit down, alright?

I have a virtually non existent knowledge of British law but this brings memories of the Criminal Justice act, complete with opening scenes from Human Traffic. One of those catch all laws that are worse on paper than they are in reality but nonetheless deserve attention as a foreboding of whats to come.

I shall read up on this.

It was a rhetorical question, don't stomp on the guy with your wordy boots.
Rights are being whittled away or ignored here, he's not making it up.

Stu 18-11-2013 01:00 AM

"No? Thought not." is not how you answer a rhetorical question.

Protip : You don't answer it.

Kizzy 18-11-2013 01:04 AM

Well it was a question that didn't require an answer as he saved you the trouble?...

Stu 18-11-2013 01:12 AM

In the same way the budgie thinks it is running the mine, sure.

Livia 18-11-2013 02:35 PM

We already have Public Nuisance and Private Nuisance laws. I think what's being referred to is the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill... but it's hard to tell.

Do go on. Someone who is educated and knowledgeable, or what, should expand and explain.
