Women's International Friendlies and World Cup Qualifying Thread
Since WCQ has started in Europe, I'm surprised this thread hasn't been created.
It's the only area having qualifications right now, bulk fo the qualification should be next year since everyone but UEFA is using their regional tourneys to decide who qualifies for Canada. At least there's US friendlies. |
|
America this year went 8-0-1 in friendlies. You think they'll fall back especially with Hope Solo being the goddess she is?
|
There's a pretty good friendly coming up between the US and Canada, Jan 31st. But one of the US' Star players Alex Morgan is out with an injury but it's not a big deal since theres Wambach and Leroux upfront. (It's a shame that they've only played 1 game where they've been all on the pitch starting.)
There's also talented players at the other US positions and on Canada's squad (Like Christine Sinclare. A Good Striker) |
US just beat Russia 15-0 (7-0, 8-0 in two separate friendlies and sorry Novo, just had to bump this thread just for that. )
I will feel sorry for the 3 teams that draw the US in Canada next year. |
USNWT are such bossness.
|
Uh, The USWNT just fired their head coach, Tom Sermanni, after a 2-0 win against China today.
Everyone's shocked about this over here. The only blemish he's had was the Algarve cup and the only reason why we sucked was because we were experimenting with new players. Jill Ellis is internim coach. She's English but I think she was born the states. was also the internim coach after the last coach left as well. |
Well we have 4 more qualifers from Asia,
China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and Thailand have qualified through the Women's Asian Cup Tourney. 5 spots have been taken up so far for the Women's World Cup in Canada, 19 spots remain. |
North Korea just knocked USA out of the under 20s world cup, great scenes in Toronto
|
England qualified for the world cup in Canada next year.
The same happened in 2010 regarding the U-20 US Women. Against Nigeria. |
USA has qualified for the Women's World Cup.
The other countries are doomed. |
The WWC Draw is today, 11 PM Central here. It's getting shown on TV as it happens here as well.
