Vicky. 25-11-2013 09:39 AM

Chest infection. Got bluelighted on Saturday morning. Had oxygen tube and IV :(

They were going to keep her in long term apparently because they told me she would need oxygen for at least a few days, but she pulled her own tube out yesterday morning and her oxygen levels were still at 100% without the tube...so she obviously didnt still need it so they let us out. I find it quite bad that they were going to admit us long term though without even checking if she really did need it still :o

...bad ass young lady already, Vicky..I'm glad she's ok though, how worrying it must have been for you both....yeah, I do see what you mean about checking but it would have been far better that way and keeping someone so young closely monitored, rather than the other of allowing her to go home and then something they may not have foreseen/a complication could have occurred....

I suppose. Still would be quite easy to just turn the oxygen off for half an hour or so (leave tube in incase levels drop though) and monitor it to check that she actually did need it rather than just assuming she does :S

Anyway, whats done is done. Just glad to be home and glad shes back to normal again. Seeing her covered in tubes was ****ing horrible :(

...yeah, I know, in a way I'm sure it was far, far worse for you than it was for her...it's just the most helpless feeling in the world to see your child like that or see them under anaesthetic, when they're co completely 'limp'...but she's ok now, Vicky..that's the only thing that matters...in a few weeks time, you'll probably wish she wouldn't be jumping about so much lol....

..kids, eh...whoever invented them...

:( how scary for you Vicky! Funnily enough one if my friend's babys got taken to hospital during the night with the same thing.. He's in a wee oxygen cube or something?
Anyway.. Glad Skye is home safe and well. Hope you have a lovely day with her :)
