I know it was in the press release last week but the text within it all seemed very generic but I'm reading now some acts have confirmed it? I don't know, I can see the positives behind it but I want at least one week pre-final with no bottom two. I've never really minded the F5 one in recent years but that already exposes the final three, this will just expose the final two (even if it's already obvious)...that doesn't make any sense.

Not sure why you're using that emoticon though Vanessa, seeing as if this really does go ahead it's 99% likely to be because they want Luke in the final. I think they want to see if there's a possibility of being able to get Nicholas out, or at least have a choice of picking who they want out of Rough Copy/Luke. Which isn't a bad thing I guess, I just wanted a straight vote this week, probs would've been more exciting too :(

Nope, until series 7 the sing-off ceased at F5 and the act with the fewest votes was eliminated automatically

Then that changed in 2010 because they had 16 acts and three double eliminations which ****ed up the numbers (I think there were seven acts left in the quarter final?), meaning week eight had a bottom two for the first time and controversially (Mary VS Cher) so did the semi-final as there were five acts left

Then each year since then they've kept the sing-off until F4, when the acts that made the final have been decided by public vote alone

Announcing two acts safe seems too revealing to me

You don't see why some people would be pissed that the judges/producers effectively chooses who gets the last final place?

I mean for me it's not that that bothers me but I can see why it would for other people, I'm more bothered about the fact that a straight public vote would be more exciting this week and announcing the top two will surely just spoil the final, even if it is predictable anyway
