Westboro Baptist Church to picket Nelson Mandela's funeral..?....

..I just saw this on another site...

The Westboro Baptist Church didn’t waste any time with its announcement to picket Nelson Mandela’s funeral. According to a Heavy News report dated December 5, the WBC announced its intention to fly to Africa to picket Mandela’s funeral within minutes of the announcement of his death.

WBC sites the fact that the Rainbow Nation has no ban on the Westboro Baptist Church.

WBC tweeted its intention at 9 p.m. December 5:

“THANK GOD for Nelson Mandela being dropped into hell! Westboro Baptist Church booking flight to South Africa (not banned) to picket funeral!”

According to the Sandon Chronicle, all roads to Mandela’s Houghton home were closed at 7:30 a.m. on December 6. Police are now barricading the road and are not letting people through.

Many are outraged at the WBC intention to picket Mandela’s funeral. It is unknown whether the WBC will be stopped from picketing the funeral.

The Westboro Baptist Church has tweeted several news agencies in an attempt to get details on the funeral for Mandela so that they can make plans to picket.

Several tweets in response to the WBC suggest that they will not be offered the same protections they receive in the United States if they try to picket

The controversial organisation, which has picketed funerals of US soldiers and other prominent people, tweeted that it will be travelling to South Africa to protest at the struggle icon's funeral.

"THANK GOD for Nelson Mandela being dropped into hell! Westboro Baptist Church booking flight to South Africa (not banned) to picket funeral!" it tweeted.

"'World leaders mourn the death of Nelson Mandela' #Madiba 'Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!' Jesus Christ at Luke 6:26," it later posted.

However, other Twitter users have hit back at the organisation.

"You are truly lost human beings, you claim 2 b people of god but you couldnt be further from the truth you preach nothing but hate," said user @Tuckthestrutt.

"South Africa will most certainly greet you with more extreme prejudice than authorities allow here in the US. Some may not return," said Twitter user @JimFTFD.

"Disrespectful scumbags. If anyone is going to hell, it's you guys," responded another user, @Hushpigg

I'm really not one for mob justice or violence, as I'm sure most of my Serious Debate posts suggest  but I really would enjoy the idea of someone taking a flamethrower to these ***** and just eradicating them completely.

Ammi 07-12-2013 05:36 AM

..I'm probably with you on that one but you have to feel pity for people who have lives/hearts of hate...

This so much. I'm the biggest pacifist I know, but even I would make an exception for these scumbags. Then again, they are creatures of hatred and feed on the hatred they generate in others, so it's best just to ignore them. I don't believe in religion or an afterlife and I'm in no way a fan of Christianity but a part of me would love for it to be true just so they could burn in Hell.

They probably think that the SA Police will protect them just as the American Poklce forces do.I do hope that they go just so that they can experience a little bit of their own hatred and intolerance.

They'll be in for a shock with the South African Police then if they do.

I doubt that they'll go, this is probably just media posturing from the safety of the USA, what they want is media attention and it looks like they have that.

let them picket, after all how many black south Africans died trying to do the same, trying to have right to do what they feel is right.

Verbal 07-12-2013 09:55 AM

They'll probably be banned mid-flight and turned around just as soon as they step off the plane, no way will they get into Africa. If by chance they do they wont last 5 minutes they will be torn to bits, literally.

They're all about hate.. If there's anybody's funeral they should not be allowed to picket, it's Nelson Mandelas!

I can't believe anybody could put up a case FOR them being there!

Apple202 07-12-2013 10:00 AM

When will they be shot

Kizzy 07-12-2013 10:03 AM

I agree JB, I can see westboro burnt to the ground if they even dare attempt it.
I'm expecting our PM to spontaneously combust when he walks in the church too :idc: #hypocriteonfire

WBC church should have the right to protest the funeral if they wish, but they really have no idea that they won't be as protected as they are when they picket funerals in the US.

I actually think NM would have been ok with them being there as well. People shouldn't try and shut them down, they should make more people listen to their insane ramblings.

Disagree.. His funeral should be peaceful, and a celebration of what he achieved. They have no right to he anywhere near it.

Absolutely. There will be hundreds of thousands of people there anyway, they won't get anywhere near. They tweeted this knowing that they will be handed a ban in the meantime.

That's ok, and I agree his funeral should and will be a celebration. The problem is that you never win by marginalising these kind of people. Everything they do should be highlighted, and listened to. That's how you stop people in the future acting like complete ******tards. You engage and publicise, never ignore.

Yeah, that's fair enough, but I think on this occasion it's wrong to give them a stage.

Kizzy 07-12-2013 10:23 AM

It's amazing what hate and intolerance can be voiced in the name of 'jesus'.
It's the funeral of a modern day saint and the world heaved a collective sigh as a shining light left this place. As the earth dims, we struggle to see.

I do agree with this and I wouldn't want to give them a stage either. But they should still have the right to express their views. However backwardly middle-age and offensive they may be.

MTVN 07-12-2013 10:43 AM

Will never happen, even if by some miracle they are allowed into the country, get through immigration, are permitted to protest etc. etc. then like Verbal said they will have no chance of being seen or heard with the massive crowds that will be there

Tom4784 07-12-2013 11:28 AM

They'll end up getting killed if they do, so I say let them try.

Me. I Am Salman 07-12-2013 11:36 AM

I hate the word 'picket' so much

Jack_ 07-12-2013 02:51 PM

Can these ****ing ******s just be exterminated please

its simple lee, by not giving them the chance you protest, you are just giving them the fuel they are after.

King Gizzard 07-12-2013 05:46 PM

should just be ignored completely, this is what they want, the attention, it's how they make their money/how they're successful
