Does anyone ever feel unsafe in their own home..?

I'm currently a frantic mess because some hooded figure's just thrown a brick and concrete through my neighbour's window and I thought someone was breaking in downstairs... stuff like this makes me feel really unsafe in my house as well as noises at night and stuff (I live in a rough estate) .. does anyone else get like this?

Not anymore, I was a bit nervous for a while a few years back when a masked person was wondering around my back garden in the middle of the night but these days I'd be more likely to chase them off or something.

Only for silly reasons. Like after I watch a horror movie or something like that. I do usually get kind of nervous when I'm locking all of the doors at night. I don't know why though, I just get scared that somebody's going to come and stop me from locking up:laugh:

I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not home in my own home
And I've tried and tried,
To say what's on my mind
You should have known!

I'm like that... I cant look through windows at night

No not at all. I actually had to go out tonight and leave the door unlocked, but I didn't worry at all whilst I was out :)

I know exactly what you mean! Even if I hear something outside, I won't go and look out the window as there might, just might be a face looking back at you :/

King Gizzard 07-12-2013 11:26 PM

our door goes directly out onto the pavement so i'm always weary when someone is walking past, but I'd probably batter them anyway

King Gizzard 07-12-2013 11:26 PM

that made me sound like a right hard nut, would just launch myself at them to be honest

GypsyGoth 07-12-2013 11:27 PM

If I'm home alone for more than one night. The house is old so it makes creepy noises sometimes.

Aye? Hard as **** aye?

King Gizzard 07-12-2013 11:28 PM

we have a path right next to our house that leads to all of the backdoors so if someone goes down there at night I get a bit worried, our neighbour did it one night and it was locked so the cheeky **** knocked on our door to see if we could open it but we didn't answer

Me too. I freak out and just become a nervous mess.

King Gizzard 07-12-2013 11:32 PM

I'm forever scared of looking in the mirror because of this (even if it's fake)

I'm fine when there's someone else in my family awake at home but when they're all asleep or when I'm home alone and it's dark, I get really frightened of the tiniest of noises.

Like one time when I was falling asleep, my window was open, and I heard talking and I automatically assumed some burglars were in my house talking until I remembered the window was open. I also got quite panicky when the house alarm went off unexpectedly one night, I assume it was just a fly or something.

I used to be a wreck due to a nutty ex, but I'm better now. I've always been scared of the dark and sleep with the toilet light on.
I leave a light on in the living room too so nobody ever knows if we're up or not
Hope you're ok reece :)

I feel very unsafe. But I lived in Hull for most of my young life, in the rough area so that causes my nerves and for me to look over my shoulder every two minutes.

Thanks  I'm leaving my light on tonight, darkness is definitely a major factor of the nerves.

I'm normally up until 4am so being alone at night doesn't scare me I even go on walks at times.

I used to hate 4am, it's too late for anybody to be up and too early for anyone to be up. The paranoia hour I called it :(
I have a big black doggy now too that barks his head off if he hears anything, even though he's the sweetest thing ever he sounds scary

My dog is the same, but she's more likely to lick your face off than bite you :joker:
