Stop selling substandard crap then tesco?

Glenn. 11-12-2013 06:56 AM

I think all supermarkets sell substandard crap. It's not just Tesco.

There's always going to be waste.

The food people throw away at home is shocking.

thesheriff443 11-12-2013 07:03 AM

you have to watch your sell by dates, they want us to take what we are given at a price that suits them.

smudgie 11-12-2013 09:24 AM

They order too much stuff in.

They could and should give it to the poor, no waste needed at all.

They still manage to make massive profits even with the waste.

Kizzy 11-12-2013 09:24 AM

Consumers have the right to be fussy, food is very expensive of couse they want it to be of a quality that ensures value for money.
I would have thought that was lesson one in how to run a supermarket. Not all sell substandard crap, if tesco are noticing more in certain departments then maybe they should look at where the stock comes from or how it's stored before it reaches the shelves?
People vote with their feet.

Isn't it the supermarkets that have encouraged the public not to want out of shape carrots and apples with blemishes? They've conditioned their shoppers to expect perfectly shaped, evenly sized fruit and veg, now they're blaming the shopper for wanting evenly sized fruit and veg. Of all the major supermarkets, Tescos suck the big one anyway.

Well instead of throwing it out, they must be able to see,if they are really in any way good at their jobs, what is being bought in the main and what is being left.
So simply sell it off a great deal cheaper rather than just get rid of it.
