RE the news, good castings and choice of Actors. The show needed older characters and it seems the Carters will be a force to be reckoned with!

Still needs Charlie and Big Mo to return to get a proper old lineup, 5 old characters still isn't enough (Dot, Cora, Patrick and 2 New Carters)

She's not the most high-profile actress but rather busy, so most would have seen her in at least something.
