Mentor / judge aspects don't work

Where XF really falls down imo is the judges also being mentors. This year highlighted the failings of this more than any other.
  1. Judges not voting when their acts are both in bottom 2
  2. Judges preferring rival acts but saving own out of loyalty.
  3. Judges tacticall voting out competition

For example, Gary imo preferred Tamera to his act Kingsland Rd in sing off but voted for KLR to stay.

Nicole refusing to vote out her girls Abi or Hannah in sing off.

Sharon voting out RC as they could have been a threat in final (their fans are young, multi cultural urban and lets be honest not vote for Sam )

By getting rid of mentor aspect (have guest mentor for all acts otherwise if rylan got 1D he'd win). Obviouly probably won't happen due to TV format

Also Louis being honest - backing Sam in final over Nicholas but seen as a betrayal.

Or mix up categories so each judge has a girl, over, boy, group.

Sharon voting out RC as they could have been a threat in final doubtful plus Luke was far superior, only one of the 3 in RC could actually sing well

I like RC and Luke, but Rc were better in sing off (although luke was better on Saturday show)

Sharon loved Luke all the way through the competition, and it'd have been more tactical for her to get rid of him, than them :joker:

He had 13% more than them in the semi final anyway, he'd have been robbed if she sent him home :hmph:

I thought both were pretty bad in the sing off tbh and tbf they never really decide on who goes and who stays on the sing off performance anyway

RC were better than luke in sing off, not great but better, and it's no secret ithink luke's talented.

Question for you: Gary clearly adored Sam B's singing but if - by a fluke eg complacent fans - she was in bottom 2 against Kingsland Rd or Miss Dynamix who would he save ? If Louis was in that predicament he'd vote out his own act

It's been a flaw of the show for years because it makes it more about the judging panel than the actual contestants who are supposedly the focus of the show, but of course never are.

I would like the idea of each judge having boys, girls, groups and overs in their group. Would mix it up

I don't watch that, but by definition a "Judge" should be totally impartial - this lot obviously are NOT!
