Sam Baily no longer number one on itunes

How long was James Arthur number one for? Does anyone remember? My memory fails me.

Shaun 21-12-2013 03:16 PM

why is pharrell having solo success again it's a totally bland song

mizzy25 21-12-2013 03:16 PM

did sam even make it to no.1?

Brother Leon 21-12-2013 03:16 PM

Well Pharrell's song is much better.

Vanessa 21-12-2013 03:18 PM

The song isn't great. Nothing to do with Sam. She didn't choose it.

Marc 21-12-2013 03:18 PM

Not sure how that new Pharrell song is doing well :-/

dojo88 21-12-2013 03:25 PM

People have NO taste in music these days!!!
A bland, generic song making it to xmas no1 over a CHARITY SINGLE!!! That is an insult to TFSL and GOSH, there are children dying EVERYDAY and the people choose to waste their money on an overrated pop song rather than a song for a GOOD CAUSE!!! how bloody selfish!!

Sam is great, but Skyscraper is not. I wouldn't buy it. Wrong song for he i think. It doesn't show just how good she is.

Pete. 21-12-2013 03:30 PM

The song doesn't matter the artist does.

It's very depressing to think that people are giving their money to some generic pop artists/record labels rather than helping sick, dying kids.

In that case, maybe instead of buying any music they should donate straight to charity, or actually go and help directly.

Skyscraper is quite awful. Yes the money goes to charity, but (IMO) that was just a cheap attempt to keep x factor at xmas number one

MeMyselfAndI 21-12-2013 03:37 PM

Leona will overtake her at #2 soon probs

Brother Leon 21-12-2013 03:40 PM

The song is crap. People bought the James Arthur charity single last yea, why should they buy this just because it is for a good cause? Pharrell's has been on two of the biggest songs this year so of course his single will get sales.

bbfan1991 21-12-2013 03:42 PM

Good.

Because there are more and more kids dying everyday because there are selfish and sad people in this country who decide to choose overrated, generic, dull-as-dishwater pop songs rather than being nice and helping others. :conf: :conf:

Not as much as the two biggest songs that you mentioned and don't forget he only featured on them.

Again, maybe people should stop buying music(and anything else) alltogther then and just donate every spare penny to charities?

Also, Sam is about as generic, overrated and dull as dishwater as they get too(though a fantastic singer...still all things mentioned though). So I dont really see the point in keep labouring that point :/

Amy Jade 21-12-2013 03:52 PM

Doesn't even matter if she gets a number 1. The only song worthy of Xmas Number one is One More Sleep. People should support a proper Christmas song getting to the top - every year people moan the X Factor has got the top spot or that crap that stopped Joe McEldery.

The Pharrel song is utter bull. I'd rather scoop a hand full of poo in each hand and force it in my ears than listen to it frankly.

:joker: whether the profits go to a good cause or not makes no difference, if people don't like the song then they won't buy it. That doesn't make someone selfish. If people want to donate to charities then they can do so in other ways.

MeMyselfAndI 21-12-2013 04:00 PM

One More Sleep was less than 7k off #1 last week :(
And had overtake Lily & Avicii since, Leona was just unlucky

Jemal 21-12-2013 04:00 PM

Ill rather just donate money to oxfam then?
Instead of buying a dire song.

Im all for the cause of helping charity and whatever.. But bloody hell if people dont want to buy the song then why is it such a big deal?
Why is it getting portrayed as people who dont want to help charity.

Its annoying.

Leona would have been #1 with better promotion I think.

Kazanne 21-12-2013 04:07 PM

Well I'm gonna put a spoke in the wheel now,I want The Story of my life by 1D to be number 1 for Xmas but I do like Leonas too,so any of those.

Z 21-12-2013 04:09 PM

Sam Bailey is a really good karaoke singer, she's not an artist and she won't be a success. She's a lovely lady and she could sing just about anything but who exactly is going to buy her music?

MeMyselfAndI 21-12-2013 04:14 PM

Story Of My Life is amazing (runs), but It's not very likely too be top 5, I think the xmas top 10 will be

1) Sam Bailey
2) Pharell
3) Leona Lewis
4) ACDC
5) Avicii
6) Lily Allen
7) Ellie Goulding
8) Jason Derulo
9) Eminem ft Rihanna
10) One Direction

How anyone could call Sam Bailey a karaoke singer is beyond me. I am not sure what exactly you term as being an 'artist' but most singers and bands around today and in the past just sing songs written by other people. Few write their own music or play instruments, if that's what meets your definition of being an 'artist'.

You admit Sam could sing anything but still call her karaoke - complete contradiction in my opinion.

Personally..I dont think being called karaoke is that much of an insult. I am a karaoke presenter, and I tell you....some of the people we get singing in random bars are 100x better than anyone on these talent shows on tv. So yeah..calling someone karaoke, but saying they can sing, is fine. No contradiction

Exactly as my family have donated to charity but they haven't bought the song and why should they?

Truly talented artists are able to turn other people's songs into their own though, Sam Bailey just copies the original.
