Omg I'm so scared :(

In April or May I've got to have a operation, I'm not scared about the operation I'm scared about being put a sleep :/

Does anyone no what it feels like being put a sleep in a operation

They give you the gas and you are sleeping within about 10 seconds :)

thesheriff443 10-01-2014 05:42 PM

yes, before you can think about it your out.

Braden 10-01-2014 05:43 PM

I've never been put to sleep but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Just think about the amount of people who would get put to sleep due to operations on a daily basis. Nothing negative normally happens as a result of it.

It is fine - you will be surrounded by lovely nurses (I hope http://i.imgur.com/24L64x6.png) and then you will be out. Then you will arise in a few seconds and everything has been done. You might feel a bit drowsy though.

King Gizzard 10-01-2014 05:46 PM

It'll be fine the people who put you asleep have gone through years of training and the amount of operations they do daily

Think you even have the option of having that nice smelling gas but not sure if that's just for kids or not

Samm 10-01-2014 05:50 PM

Thanks all

Livia 10-01-2014 05:50 PM

You'll be fine... I know it's hard not to worry about stuff like this, but it's not necessary. x

Kate! 10-01-2014 05:52 PM

I was apprehensive when I had to have an OP, but it was absolutely fine. You'll be well looked after Sam.

Josy 10-01-2014 05:56 PM

I have had to be put to sleep a few times before operations and everything was fine, they count backwards from 10 and I think I was out each time before they reached 8 then when you wake up you are a bit drowsy and say some really daft things sometimes but other than that it's all fine.

Try not to get too worried about it Sam.

I don't think he will get gas if it's an op? it will be a general anaesthetic.

Z 10-01-2014 05:59 PM

I'm getting surgery in April  I'm just getting anaesthetic so I'll be awake for the whole thing, so it could be worse Sam

Samm 10-01-2014 06:02 PM

Hope it goes well for you too zee

Ammi 10-01-2014 06:06 PM

..honestly it'll be ok, Sam..you will probably be given some medication pre-op to relax you so you won't feel nervous or scared at all and the people there know what to say to make people feel relaxed anyway...when they ask you to count to 10, you'll probably be asleep before you reach 9, that's how easy it is...you'll just wake up and it'll all be over .....

Samm 10-01-2014 06:08 PM

It's weird tbh because I'm not scared of much but this scares me but with all this Help I will survive

..aww, I know it seems scary but it really isn't because it's really just sleeping through everything...what's your surgery, Sam..?..

Lee. 10-01-2014 06:11 PM

Don't be scared.. You'll be in the hands of people who do this several times a day every day. On the morning if your op keep calm and tell yourself by that evening it will all be over... It will be over before you know it. :)

..ahh ok, but having a general anaesthetic sounds the best thing for that and you really won't feel a thing when the anaesthetist puts you to sleep, Sam...

james130 10-01-2014 06:27 PM

It's the waking up that's the strangest part.
Not horrible but weird.
The falling asleep is literally just that though :)
