Ok. How do you get hair dye out of a carpet!?!

Without me realising it, I got a splodge of foam from my hair dying adventure on the carpet and now it looks like coal has been trod in :bawling:

Heeeeeeeeelp meeeeeee!!

I'm going to try scrubbing it with Vanish I think.

Niamh. 13-01-2014 10:35 AM

oh no, what colour is your carpet?

Kate! 13-01-2014 10:37 AM

It's cream Niamh D:

Niamh. 13-01-2014 10:38 AM

Oh s**t could be a lost cause then but try dabbing it with nail varnish remover

Kate! 13-01-2014 10:42 AM

Oh I'll try that.

Kate! 13-01-2014 10:43 AM

I've got a steam cleaner, maybe that'll work.

Niamh. 13-01-2014 10:45 AM

Kate! 13-01-2014 10:47 AM

Is it a short pile carpet or can you cut it out. Also, I was told to try WD 40 on nail varnish and it took that out.

Kazanne 13-01-2014 10:50 AM

If it fails kate you can always cut a circle or square of spare carpet(hopes you got some) you have to be precise with this and then take out the marked piece and replace with the new.it works honestly but glue it as you'll end up hovering it up,lol

lostalex 13-01-2014 10:50 AM

can we please have before and after pics of the hair that was being dyed?

just out of curiosity

Kate! 13-01-2014 10:51 AM

Short pile Annie. :(

I'll remember the wd40 if all else fails

I can't do that Kaz, I live in rented accommodation, it's not my carpet. Apartment was part furnished and decorated.

Depends how old the carpet is ,where it is and how big the patch, but I don't think it would be too hard to age a small spot, a few kids on it will do the job.
