Magazines

Do you read any magazines regularly? What do you like to read?

Me. I Am Salman 14-01-2014 12:55 AM

I don't really read them I used to love soap magazines and the monthly Sky magazines when I was younger though

Z 14-01-2014 12:56 AM

I used to buy FHM every month, I still buy it on occasion but there are other things I could be spending a fiver on. Quite like Q if there are a few featured artists I like.

Can't remember the last magazine I bought, probably Official Nintendo.

Don't see the point in them now we have the internet, sad really...

MTVN 14-01-2014 01:03 AM

Only tend to buy them if I have a long train or plane journey now, if I do it'll be a football one either When Saturday Comes or World Soccer, or I might sometimes get All Out Cricket as well

Generally I think they're too expensive to get every month, I enjoy reading them and there's always a lot of material but a fiver for 2/3 hours worth of reading is a bit much

Don't indulge very often, magazines are very overpriced now especially considering up to half the content is adverts, I used to buy Cosmopolitan and More! But you can access them all online now anyway. I get Inside Soap magazine once a week though as I enjoy reading that with a drink and a biscuit (is aware I sound like a pensioner lol) and it's less than 2 quid.

Ammi 14-01-2014 04:44 AM

..no, not regularly..I occasionally buy a music magazine if it's some kind of special edition or a special on an artist I like...

I used to buy them all the time, usually Now! or Heat, then i just got pissed off with all the stories about Katie price etc, and thinking this is what she wants people to think blah blah blah so i stopped buying them and supporting her

Gardeners world mag.

Used to read Q but their taste is far too safe and dull. Bit repetitive too, "oooh isn't Liam Gallagher a legend ha ha". Yawn.

NME is crap too, so I don't really have much to go for in terms of music... Uncut doesn't believe in anything that isn't rock, and the rest is aimed at pretending the sixties never died.

I like Empire, Four Four Two and the Economist though.

I bet the DM site killed a lot of gossip mags stone dead?

Reading magazines is my favourite pastime I would say. My mum subscribes to two weekly news magazines, one's Liberal, the other one is Conservative ( a bit homophobic and very classist ), unfortunately the latter also comes with a really good weekly guide and I enjoy reading its columns and reviews of bars, clubs etc. She also subscribes to our version of "Hello!" which is also weekly. I also read a magazine about vegetarianism monthly and whenever I'm at a good bookstore I try and read a few foreign publications such as The Economist, The New Yorker, L'Officiel, France Football and Vogue.

Jarrod 14-01-2014 01:45 PM

I only buy the Doctor Who Magazine and that's once a month.
