Most unusual cuisine you've tried?
 

I was at a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner last night, felt pretty adventurous... what's the most unusual world cuisine you've ever tried?

There's a Nepalese restaurant not far from where I worked in the summer at home, I've always wanted to go just to say I've been but it doesn't look very appealing from the outside :laugh:

Hmmm, my friend made me a Bauru once, which is a brazilian sandwich made from roast beef, gherkins, cheese & tomato served in a bun which has had some of the inside scooped out. It was delish.

Whale & Puffin in Iceland (had the whale with sweet & sour sauce, it was really good :laugh:)

I ate camel for 2 weeks when I was in tunisia. Was told it was beef, tasted quite like beef but more tender :/

Also tried crocodile in gatorland florida. Was awful...like really tough chicken

I ate copious amounts of squid in August, Idk if that is weird but it was new to me.
Also I eat periwinkles (beach snails) in summer.

Fried Octopus if that counts.

Dried Seaweed, tasted like salty lettuce

I've tried some "exotic" fruits that some of you may have never seen. :shrug:

This thread has made me realise how boring I am when it comes to food.

I feel adventurous when I have corn on the cob :umm2:

I love seaweed too, And licorice root (a woody stem you can eat)

I went through a stage of eating random flowers and weeds... (don't try this at home kids!)

..yeah, octopus is probably the most 'unusual' thing I think that I have tried, I can't remember anything else..I'm not the most adventurous person with food...

..oh I hated it as well..

Pitaya looks interesting! What does it taste like?

Snails. Not sure if that counts. In my country everyone eats them. :suspect:

Palm tree.. Which sounded strange to me but was delicious !
