Vine star Curtis Lepore charged with RAPING ex gf and fellow vine star Jessi Smiles.

TMZ reported Thursday that Lepore was arrested in October and released on $100,000 bail. On Tuesday, the rape suspect entered a not guilty plea in a Los Angeles court.
The celebrity gossip site reported that the alleged sexual assault took place in late August while Smiles, of Florida, was visiting her then-boyfriend Lepore in Los Angeles.

Smiles spent a few more days in L.A. filming a video for the popular social media forum, but suffered a concussion during shooting.

According to the alleged victim, one day Curtis came over to visit her while she was sleeping, and that is when he allegedly raped her.
MailOnline does not usually name victims of sexual abuse, but Smiles, whose real name is Jessica Vazquez, gave TMZ the go-ahead to publicly identify her.
Both Lepore and Smiles have addressed the incident on their respective Twitter and Vine accounts.

I was thinking the same.

I hope, if it's true, that Justice will out but she's undoubtedly damaged the case by allowing herself to be identified by the press and releasing statements and such as his lawyer could easily make out that she's attempting to profit from this ordeal which will cast doubt on her story. It's terrible but it'll happen.

Judging by the comments on various websites about this story, I'm really shocked that people still don't understand what rape is.

I'm not disputing that; I just found it humorous that this is a news story and the term "Vine star" was used. I'd have the same reaction if I read "YouTube star ____" in a newspaper too.
