How are people being taken in by Jim Davidson? - I opt out.
He's a vile man and an attention seeker - and all but one person (Linda Lasarti) has confirmed it on BOTS. Tonight Dr. Pam Speirs said he was an authoritarian who seeks attention and gave the example of him going to bed early and getting up again to draw that attention to himself. I have said that all along.
There was a girl on the panel who worked with him on Hell's Kitchen who said he was an absolutely vile man. Most of the other panelists since the start of the series have nothing good to say about him. He is well known as sexist, racist, homophobic and long ago wife beater. He admits to being a male chauvinist pig. The majority of the HM's don't like him. He plays the victim to the hilt and so many viewers have fallen for it that it's scary. He drops sexist remarks to rile the women up and then when they take the bait he acts all innocent and surprised and picked on. He is a miserable sod who doesn't like music, dancing or fun so other people are at fault for wanting to let their hair down. It's all for effect and attention, of course. If he just went to bed and stayed there - or sat there and enjoyed other people having a good time, the camera wouldn't be on him, would it? For the first time ever on this forum I am really sickened by the support of someone who frankly, is such an asshole. If the Great British Public really want an asshole for a winner, they couldn't have made a better choice. Well done. A piss and s**t the bed winner last time around (who was at least likable) - now the vile but newly worshiped Jim Davidson. Such discernment. Over and out and enjoy your winner. I opt out of any more of this madness as many of you will be glad to hear. Bye :xyxwave: |

..you'll be missed, Jet..I hope you decide to stay...yeah, I don't think that Jim is a very pleasant man but tbh, they're just all a pretty awful bunch this time and does it matter really whether he wins..?...

Why do people take this stuff so seriously? Whoever wins it won't affect anyones life on here, it's TV that is all, not seen Charlotte on TV since she won apart from a BOTS appearance, pretty sure it will be the same with Jim Davidson or whoever wins CBB. Just enjoy it for what it is a TV show, and let people support who they want to support without judging them for it. All this angst over why people support who they support is just a waste of time imo.

I completely agree - how have the public been swayed so badly that they can't see Jim for who he is :bored: He should have been out of there way before now.

Ah Jet. :( I understand your frustration. He is a horrible person, but I've enjoyed him as a housemate and he's made me laugh a lot, I absolutely don't want him to win though, but that could be said of the majority of them in there. They are, as people, an awful bunch, but to watch have been absolute gold. Ollie and Sam are decent enough, but they've been yawnsville sadly, and I really like Ollie :( pity.
I think a lot of the people who support Jim on here do actually know he's not all that, but have loved his entertainment value. He's a tough cookie and I don't agree he's been bullied in the slightest, it's like water off a ducks back, he's well able to take it, and gives it right back. He's very thick skinned. I hope you do stick around, you're a great poster. |

I think that you just have try your best to think of it as an entertainment show, and purely based on entertainment Jim is a good housemate.
The thing that I struggle with about Jim being popular, is that I'm not sure what the demographics are for this show but I'm going to assume mainly teenagers and to a lesser extent people in their 20's, which are all more susceptible to believing that these people are role models. I know that most of the people on this forum are just viewing this as an entertainment show so they probably don't really think of the impact it could have on teenagers. I mean, I was in high school when Jersey Shore came out and I just thought that it was a great show to laugh at how stupid those people were, but nope. Half of my school was basically infatuated with it, that they tried to look like them and act like them and everything. The Jersey Shore cast were role models for them, and it honestly kinda became their lifestyle for a couple years. So yeah, basically I think that Jim should make it to the final based on entertainment value, but I'm a bit worried that since he's so well received people will think it's okay to act like him. I can't imagine how many people think it's okay to act like Charlotte. |
he is what he is !

I like Jim, because he makes me laugh. I don't know him as a person, but as a housemate he's fantastic!

It would be better if Linda just left all she does is bring everyone down,
I think Jim is a vile sexist pig but really he's just a typical man with a dry sense of humour and instead of keeping things to himself he just comes out and says thing, but it makes for great tv, on the other hand Linda is so boring and vile in her own right. |

Hope you will be back on the forum again. I dislike him too. |
Personally I find him really funny...his one liners are awesome.
He is 'old school'...his comic act was that of a 'male chauvinist' as were many comedians. People take him too seriously....he has done nothing on this show that was truly nasty...compared to what Linda and Luisa have thrown at him. I think he has handled it well.... When he bought up Frank Carson it was a little harsh but Linda had been goading him since the handcuffs came off and she deserved it IMO. He gives big mouth Luisa a run for her money and 'owns' her every time....she is the vile one in there there is no doubt about it. I hope Jim gets right to the end....he has been great!!! |
Just watched it now
There was a girl on the panel who worked with him on Hell's Kitchen who said he was an absolutely vile man. The girl is Adele King, lol she is hardly a saint herself ..:joker: |
Jet's taking off

He's entertaining just sit back for goodness sake and enjoy it its a game.
Come on Jim my boy |

People aren't being taken in by him. I can't believe you take it so seriously. It's a game show. Like everyone else, he is masking the worst aspects of his personality, but we've still seen him being grumpy, narky, impatient, anti-social, moody and more. We've also seen him being kind, supportive, funny, patient, long-suffering and truthful enough to say on camera that he's on his best behaviour because otherwise he'd be booted out. I would also put the martyred floor-sleeping Jim into the positive category.. Absolutely priceless.
The psychologists on BOTS are basically there to be light-hearted, funny and a bit of fluff. They merely give their opinion - it's not gospel, and you cannot take anything they say as the final word. They only deal with one of many aspects of any person or situation. The last psychologist, who was also female, spoke of Jim very warmly and saw him as kind and nurturing. No-one is either black or white - we're all shades of grey. You can choose to filter out all the positive things about Jim and only see the negative. Others see both positive and negative, or simply vote for the person who brings most to the series or causes most drama. I personally have been far more intrigued by him than by anyone else on the show. I've watched some footage of him on Youtube and read a few articles about him. I've been trying to suss him out. Conversely, at the beginning of the series, I saw right through Linda, and knew she'd soon be sitting in a huddle, ripping some poor person to shreds. If it hadn't been Jim, it'd have been someone else. She pretends she's caring, but in my opinion, she doesn't actually care about anyone except herself. And some people will eventually clock on. Maybe Jim cares about nobody but himself too, but he's smarter than she is and I'll be surprised if she isn't out before him, despite her having the strongest alliance in the house. |
