Don't like Ollie and Sam

They are boring and dull, and they seem quite lost without scripts, those scripts make them slightly amusing in their own reality shows. Their niceness seems quite fake and forced. Everybody has an opinion on things, if not, that's they are just like furniture, thus pointless housemates. No opinions = Fake.

Jords 24-01-2014 06:40 AM

People can have opinions but not feel the need to inform everybody of them.

I get what youre saying, it would be good to see them share their voice a little more, but theyre kind, well-mannered people. I find it odd that anybody could actively dislike Ollie or Sam.

If this is true, it could explain some of Sam's behavior....

camertone 24-01-2014 07:37 AM

dislike them, because they seem quite smug and act so sanctimonuous.

HD 24-01-2014 07:48 AM

They've done nothing for me to like OR dislike them.

Laura BB11 done more in one day than these two in 3 weeks.

Slevin 24-01-2014 07:56 AM

i can see why some would like or dislike em. doing **** all to me is enough to dislike em.

I don't even think she's kind or well mannered. She's sat with Linda bitching about Jim and then got offended when he nominated her; she got offended when Lee picked her in that task and she got offended by Liz nominating her even though she nominated Liz for no good reason too. Same with Ollie - neither of them are nice people, they're just pretending otherwise.

I actually don't see why people lump Sam and Ollie together. I agree with Zee on Sam. Ollie, however, seems rather nice: he's kind, tactful, loyal, and rather funny: he went raking in the toaster for crumbs when they were deprived of food and added the cross-dressing angle to the role-play with Sam - she was just thinking 'strict mistress'. Added to that, he's really gorgeous to look at - totally fanciable - and very, very orange.

I guess they get lumped together because they've taken a back seat in the house and have had to be provoked into having opinions and expressing them. I think they're very different people; Sam's a bit rough around the edges and doesn't take any **** and you do see flashes of it when she's bitching with Linda or in the fence sitting task - she's not averse to conflict she just doesn't fight battles that aren't hers. Ollie on the other hand is a total sap, can't handle any kind of criticism or negativity because he's vain and thinks not having an opinion and not offending anyone is easier than handling conflict and standing up for himself. As shown by his speech, however, he too does have opinions and cannot handle criticism at all when it's flung his way, because it ruins his image of himself. He's not an inherently bad person by any means, it's not like he's hiding some nasty personality, he's just very self censored and will say whatever offends people the least - e.g. changing his mind about the Jim/Linda argument because Linda snorted a bit of fire out of her nostril, the dragon

I like ollie as a person but he's a **** housemate, sam is a **** person and a **** housemate though, boring, spineless and cowardly

I would have to agree with this - Ollie was really nice with Lionel and showed he has a kind nature. Sam I just feel is a bitch deep down - not sure why but she just has that look about her imo.

They both think they're better than anyone else. Strange how Dappy's genuine qualities are now shinning though.

It is an interesting issue because I thought Ollie was quite brave to confront Luisa about the song. I must be more of a sap than he is.

I want him to leave but there's not a hope in hell of that happening. At least though Big Brother have managed to provoke Sam and Ollie into being an active part of the house instead of being wallpaper. I now think they're both more entertaining than Casey!

How could you say that? I think Casey's admiral.

Apathy is the perfect word to sum up my views on these two.

Robodog 24-01-2014 05:45 PM

Agreed.

The other HMs have all bared their soul - warts and all - which is exactly what you want to see as a BB viewer.

Ollie and Sam have treated this like a professional reality tv job and are like two ghosts in the house compared to the others.

When they talk about their 'feelings' for each other i have never seen such insincere emptiness in people's eyes before.

Ollie has a bit more soul to him. I believe he had real warmth for Lionel and was genuinely a bit upset last night with his speech. But he is still 'at work' 24/7 in that house.

But Sam is cold as ice and gives nothing away. She expects to sail through to the final as if it;s her divine right.

Linda actually deserves to finish above Sam.

Great post, agree with everything you've said. They are just playing a role in there, they aren't being themselves. People say Jim is playing a role (which I think he is too) yet Sam and Ollie don't often get accused of the same, when their bloody career is to perform scripted reality bull**** to entertain masses of people who are taken in by such ****. They're just sticking to what they know - play a role, people lap it up and you get no flak for it.

As housemates they are both useless, non-entities

Videostar 24-01-2014 06:41 PM

I don't think fence sitters in the BB house are naturally lovely and don't like arguments as some people think, they are playing the game and trying to steer clear of trouble, but I bet in their normal lives they would be very opinionated.

Ollie and Sam are playing that stay out of trouble game, and it's boring.

You have got those two housemates spot on.

I knew that when they were nominated, and how badly they reacted to it.
