That's ok! It's so often mentioned without any explanation.

Some people get sicker after chemotherapy, and some get better - but it's always hard to go through, causes nausea and you lose your hair for a while. I think from the letter they said that Richard's mum was getting better, though. I really hope so! How difficult it must have been for him to be in there with no word for so long.

I hope she's back to full health soon!

Hi Everyone,

This is Clare, Richard's sister. Thanks for all your support throughout the show. Yes, my mum had cancer earlier this year (tumors were removed) and received chemotherapy to combat the disease. She is doing well in her recovery and enjoyed being at home to keep a close eye on Richard in the house. We are very proud of Richard and are excited to watch what becomes of our beloved.

Shanti,
Clare

Awww, well if you're in Canada, I'm closer to you than I am to The House! I'm in the USA. ;) Just wanna say he was 1 of my 3 favorite housemates of the season. :D

Hi Clare!

We only spoke once on this forum, when I was asking if Richard's accent was still Canadian :xyxwave:

Huge congratulations to your brother, he ended up being so many people's favorite housemate, and of all the HMs I honestly have to say I have the most respect for him and how he handled himself in the house. Must be a great guy.

But most of all I think there are hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people that wish your mom the absolute best of health and care about your whole family. Please keep stopping in here and letting us know how she's doing. What's better than hearing about a proud mom?

P.S. to Rory - you're in the US too? So that makes two of us now! Howdy!

Richard was a great housemate!

Richard even gave a good interview, especially when you compare it to others.
