Everyone should thank Linda...

It can’t be denied that Jim and Luisa have made the show entertaining but it is Linda (like her or not, and I don’t) who was the catalyst that made this one of the best CBB’s ever. (And most agree that it has been). Since she went out, it’s been boring tbh. The other main theme, the ‘love triangle’ was just a distracting sideshow and on its own it wouldn’t have made the series so watchable. No, it was the Jim/Linda dynamic that had most people riveted.

Jim played a blinder of a game when Linda was there. She handed the poor victim role to him on a plate and he cleverly used it to the fullest advantage with his manipulation and passive aggressive skills.

Since she has been gone, his guard has slipped. He is working the public like puppets as usual, but he has over played his hand.

The set – up talk with Luisa about not being sexist – does anyone really believe that a man who has been working the comedy circuit for years and uses sexist jokes as part of his act was really only discovering for the first time that he might be sexist and asking a young girl for her opinion?

Then the staged talk with Ollie to show the viewers he wasn’t homophobic. Why would he ask a bisexual man if he had a ‘boyfriend’ on the outside? Why not just ‘someone special’? Why even ask when he knew Ollie wanted to be with Sam? Does Ollie seem like a two – timer?

Both those examples were so cringe worthy and obvious. There have been numerous other little things that can be spotted if you aren’t wearing rose tinted glasses. Then his perving on Casey – will the majority of the voting GBP think that is as appropriate, funny and ‘heart warming’ as so many do here?

Has he blown it since Linda left? I think it’s probably too late to stop his win. I think Jim deserves to win anyway for suckering so many people into voting for him. Without Linda, he may not have done it judging from his performance since she left.
So I think he may have it in the bag. The GBP will get the winner they deserve – a piss and **** the bed fairly brainless winner last time, a pervy bigot this time. Somehow GB doesn’t seem so Great any more.

But it was a great series, and you should all thank Linda for that!

Are the GBP as gullible as you seem to think?

Ellen 29-01-2014 02:20 PM

I am thankful she left tbh.

What part of just want him to win for his sheer gameplaying are you guys not getting, not planning on meeting up with Jim or going to one of his shows or anything else to do with him, would like him to win over Ollie and Sam for sheer entertainment value. If Dappy or Luisa win that is fine too.

Cherie 29-01-2014 02:40 PM

and! I find this whole Jim's fans must be gullible just a bit insulting :nono:

Seraphim 29-01-2014 03:26 PM

I agree with the OP, and no, the GBP are not gullible. Most people were prepared to give Jim a chance, and accept him at face value, and some are still prepared to kinda overlook his flaws, while others are not.

I wanted Linda out so I could see the true Jim emerge.. It was nice to see his love for his daughter, his affinity with Dappy and his wise words to Luisa. However, his jokes are all old: stolen from other comics; his comments are quotes from others: "It's like a house with the children gone".. and "If you can fake sincerity.." For me, his only good, original line was "Shove the knives up your arse then". Is that enough to win? Nah. Not in my book. He'll win because of his big fanbase, Linda and his game-playing. I hope he never graces my screen again. I'm not that into old jokes.

I understand that many want Jim to win for his gameplaying and being entertaining. What I don't get is that many defend his every word and action and see him as someone who can do absolutely nothing wrong. That is humanly impossible, yet they have an excuse for everything. Is that gullibility or just plain dishonesty? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But it's still very annoying. That is why I left the forum and only came back for the final day.
I actually defended Jim on several occasions when I thought it was justified. But the OTT Jim defense puts his non fans even more against him. That's human nature.
For me personally I prefer HM's who I perceive to be non gameplayers. I rarely support someone I don't like, no matter how entertaining they have been. I could never vote for someone whose morals and values I perceive to be so opposed to my own. I could never vote for someone whose behaviour in the house seems fake to me or makes me squirm.
Others don't mind any of those things as long as they have been entertained, and that is their prerogative. It's a game, and many appreciate a good gameplayer. It's the OTT defense that's off putting....

The answer is NO. Only yes in your eyes.

Jet? And a simple YES/NO will do.

Has Jim been the best game player.

God this is so boring.

What a dreary and boring post.

What you have failed to realise is that it is infact Jim who gave linda her story line. Without Jim, linda would have been one of the most boring housemates of all time, what with her bingo wings and sour face she'd have had the viewers turning off in their droves.

No it is Jim and his one liners, and witty replies to ALL housemates and his generally caring towards the younger housemates that have carried the show through to it's end.

Linda will soon be forgotten and left dredging some cess pit along with coleen and the rest of the saggy old loose women for eternity maybe appearing now and again in a pity appearance for carol voldermans turn to bore us to death on cbb.

Kazanne 29-01-2014 03:41 PM

Jims been great IMO,I hope he wins.

Do you think this post isn't dreary and boring?
Another 'Jim can do no wrong borefest'.

Without Linda, Jim would have been the Jim of the last few days, showing how contrived and fake he really is. He would have been out long ago.
Whereas we will never know what Linda would have been like if Jim hadn't been there.
He should thank her in his Emma interview.

I'm sure you mean most CBB viewers? That in itself is an exaggeration. Not most of the, at least 64 million, population of Great Britain?:conf:

So....over three weeks in the CBB house and one sentence last night sums Jim up to be completely fake and a nasty bit of work.....:joker::joker::joker:

So it would seem but that doesn't seem to matter?:conf: He's either being himself, the new charming Jim, oozing fun and compassion and of course the helpless victim of the nasty girls. Then in this case and so much today, he's seen as having played the game well?:conf: Amazing contradictory defense? :elephant:
