Why is everyone bitter that he won?

Lets be real here the worse his has done in 60 years is have a few fights with an ex wife and call an attention seeker a shirt lifter

yet press and some of the public are outraged and seem bitter that this might relaunch a talented mans career

wasn't linda hated for being bitter ?

Roy Mars III 01-02-2014 07:52 PM

true fans of Big Brother are happy, its only the people who don't enjoy watching the show who are upset

Pete. 01-02-2014 07:53 PM

He may be entertaining but the true winner was Luisa and she did not even come in the top 3. Outrage.

Kazanne 01-02-2014 07:56 PM

I'm not bitter,I'm delighted, only people that are bitter are the sore losers,Well done to Jim,he seems to have turned public opinion around (well most of them) good for him,I wish him luck.

Slevin 01-02-2014 08:02 PM

not a Jim fan but i thought he was gonna win like many of us did way before the finale. i rather he won than Same or Ollie that night. of course i would have loved if my favorite won but there was no chance in hell. im not bitter. i was just whatever at that point. like Jim or Luisa or not i thought they were the top 2 HM.

Z 01-02-2014 08:27 PM

Jim or Luisa would have been the only acceptable result IMO so I'm glad Jim won. Two of the housemates in the final did nothing to deserve their place (Ollie and Sam), one of them had squandered all public sympathy through poor decision making (Casey) and the other one was an okay housemate but wasn't really all that deserving of it (Dappy). Jim and Luisa entertained and provoked discussion throughout.

waterhog 01-02-2014 08:51 PM

so did dappy - for being s genuinely nice guy as his reputation goes against that. i think luisa lost her way in the last few days.

Cherie 01-02-2014 09:29 PM

How dare they be bitter :fist:

Patricia4 01-02-2014 09:32 PM

Linda wasn't bitter, she was just honest about being sick of the sound of the bloke. I wonder how most on here would react is someone tried to ridicule their dead husband/wife/partner. People have no empathy and prefer to admire a blatant ignorant, sexist pig who won a tacky tv show.

A genuinely nice guy who thinks women should behave differently to men sexually and who thinks that women who sleep around like men are dirty. He has slept around on the mother of his children many times apparently, but he doesn't think that makes him dirty - he is a man.

That is blatant, ignorant sexism, which is no better than racism or homophobia. From a black man who would no doubt abhore racism it makes a double whammy - a sexist and a hypocrite. What a nice guy - yeah right.

joeysteele 02-02-2014 09:15 AM

I don't think everyone is bitter at him winning, largely there were positive responses to his win on TV, re-Matthew Wright show and on This Morning.

I would guess the only people bitter are those who didn't want him to win, for the vast majority who watched the show and voted clearly most of theml are very happy.

Seraphim 02-02-2014 10:01 AM

I'm not bitter because Jim won, but a note of bitterness has crept into my tone recently in some of the threads on forum because of the hypocrisy and sexism of so many of those who are supporting Jim and Dappy.

A few examples:

Dappy was dared to suck Luisa's nipples and suck his head under Luisa's top. Even if they did indulge in nipple-sucking, Luisa is the only one who has been criticised for it. No-one has once mentioned Dappy's involvement.

Luisa and Jim both admitted going to sex parties, but the outrage in response to those revelations was reserved for Luisa. No-one batted an eyelid about Jim doing it.

After starting an argument by criticising Luisa, Dappy followed her around the house, haranguing and hectoring her, and wouldn't leave her alone in spite of her making abundantly clear she didn't want to prolong the discussion. Dappy has a criminal record for harrassing a woman. He obviously hasn't changed. There was no outrage over Dappy's behaviour, but the row has been held up on this board as an example of Luisa "bullying" and being obnoxious.

Jim is a married man who was clearly being lecherous towards a beautiful young woman, building an emotional intimacy with her over time and using it to initiate physical contact, make increasingly bold references to her body, sexual organs or his lust for her, sometimes in the guise of a joke. Jim was a friend of Lee, and could easily have had a word with Lee, as Luisa did on several occasions. Instead, when all the men tried to speak to Lee together, Jim walked out of the room saying that it was none of their business. Jim exited that house to a wall of cheers and was hailed like a returning hero. Humph.

Simple - she is female. We all know it. Bearing in mind most of the voters appear to be women, I despair of the stupidity of many women - they give the rest of us a bad name.

Are you joking?!? Channel 5 did all they could to STOP Jim from winning!! It was very clear from the edits that they wanted Ollie or Sam to win... They were doing a hatchet job on Jim just like they did on Arron, but thankfully, just like with Arron, the brilliant voting public ensured his victory!!

So no women have ever won Big Brother??

Many so called feminists are the truly sexist ones...

Very few and bearing in mind most voters are women, and most women get voted out early - speaks volumes. This year, like most years, the women got all the boos and the guys got all the cheers - it was so predictable. As I have said previously, idiots come in all shapes, sizes and sexes.

If there is any truth to your claim that some feminists are sexist - it is because sexist men have made them that way - cause and effect, hardly surprising really.

I don't consider I am holidng a grudge, don't like Jim, his behaviour in the house was sadly nothing less than I expected from him - I am more concerned that people condone his behaviour towards women by voting for him. What does that say about society and the seriousness with which they take blatant sexism?

I find it quite worrying. Like racism, sexism should be treated with the seriousness it deserves bearing it mind it has a negative effect on 50% of the world's population.

If we are going to treat the show purely as fun and entertainment, then no comments from contestants whether they be racist, sexist or homophobic should be punished with a warning. If we take racism and homophobia seriously enough to give warnings - the same should be done for sexism. Double standards on the show should not be condoned in any way shape of form. Any disagreement with that is simply sexism.

Think about it - apparently BB do not want to risk offending people from racist minority groups or gay people, but seemingly don't give two hoots about offending female viewers. How can any woman not object to that?

Patricia4 02-02-2014 04:11 PM

Im pleased Jim won it I backed him from the start.

muchadoaboutnothing 02-02-2014 07:59 PM

Jim, one of the best, and most deserving, CBB winners of all time. So pleased he won.
