10 years of Facebook - has it been a great decade or shameful ?

10 years of Facebook - has it been a great decade or shameful ? 04.02.14

this is not my first knock,
Mark Zuckerburg has felt my criticism,
i suppose i am on the list "block",
for suggesting "facebook" exoticism.
i don't buy into the fascination,
infarct i think its creepy,
a false persona maybe your creation,
but my god its so sleepy.
this constant showing,
does not get my clap,
i don't care if you are on holiday glowing,
or if you are in madame Tussaud's on Micheal Jackson lap.
i suppose there is a saving,
in your pocket is a coin bomb,
instead of out of your window waving,
or paying a phone bill to telecom.
will Facebook get on a bike,
is it fundamental,
with this there is not a button to agree or like,
its causing a noise that is not instrumental.
am i the same,
seen as online i do settle,
but i refuse to play the game,
is this a clear case of pot and kettle.

( i was very shocked to hear on the wrightstuff that only 15% of the world are on facebook, this aside i still think it is to high. i just can not for the love of it - see the point in it. yes
i can see the pot and kettle with me posting online ? what is the point ? just wondered does anyone else have views on this and are you a facebook addict ? as normal it would be fantastic if replys could rhyme. thanksssssss.if you want to read a bit more on this story here is a link.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-26025009 )

I have mixed opinions on Facebook.

It's good to keep connected and updated on people that you don't see anymore or you used to know in school or college etc. on the flip side it's a nice easy place for faceless mongs who find out who you are to continually make parody accounts and abuse you. I've deactivated mine.

it's OK for what it is, but it's dying fast with the young demographic and I'm rapidly losing interest in it.

Samm 04-02-2014 09:24 AM

Stopped using it 2 years ago :idc:

Nice idea......terrible reality, overused by the wrong people for the wrong reasons. great to keep in touch with people over great distances but now abused by all user groups for personal, private, commercial gain.

Used to spy on people and stalk people, used to villify abuse and bully people.

A nice idea as I said but a septic tank of a reality......most people now realise they should not upload personal data and that their 500 facebook friends are not really friends in fact some are probably just spying on you for whatever reason.

also the Govt (security agencies) and big Companies also stalk facebook for user profiling so they can either target you with Commercials or more sinister sell personal data about you to insurance companies, credit rating companies etc...

All in All Facebook has had its day and needs to be culled and culled NOW....

It can be used for good or evil haha!

Fantastic concept, social media keeps evolving. Facebook was the first one I used.

If it wasn't for Facebook I wouldn't have got in touch with old friends.

If it wasn't for Facebook I wouldn't feel the embarrassment to this day from when I accidently uploaded a cock shot in 2011.

I have heard that the new trend now is to hold mass facebook leaving parties where groups of FB users all decide usually at the end of the year as part of a new Years resolution to quit Face Book.........

This allows them to quit as a group and receive support from each other if they suffer from FB withdrawl...

Not before time.......

WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapchat are now the social media of choice for the younger element of society.

One commented: "I left FB the day I got a friend request from my mum!"

:D

It was okay until these NeckNominations

Mystic Mock 04-02-2014 10:08 PM

I like Forums more as it feels more like a community than Facebook does, plus some of the people that can post on sites like Facebook and Twitter are frightening in how annoying they can be.

Nedusa 05-02-2014 09:19 AM

The thing that drives most young people away from Facebook is when they get a friend request from their mother..............!!!!

I had Facebook for about 2 months in 2011. It was a nightmare. Arguing with my friend's extended family members about politics got old real quick.

feb 14 approaching.

joeysteele 05-02-2014 10:26 PM

I just wouldn't have the time to be bothered with it. It would drive me mad likely.
I am not on it now and have no desire to be.

However I know people who absolutely love it so although it is not for me, I would guess it has been good for some things and a great number of people too.

the truth 05-02-2014 11:27 PM

Slevin 06-02-2014 03:24 AM
