Do you call people babe?

Babe, hun, or whatever? what do you call them?
What do you hate being called?
Or do you simply use their name?

Cherie 07-02-2014 07:51 AM

Nope. Love. Name.

joeysteele 07-02-2014 08:07 AM

No I usually just use peoples names.

Ammi 07-02-2014 08:24 AM

..no, I don't say babe, hun etc and I also don't like to be called things like that either...to me it's like giving someone a generic type gift or something ..and I always like to address someone personally and by their name...the only things I do sometimes say are darling or sweetheart and (other than with to my OH and family)..it's because I actually can't think of a child's name for a second/sometimes my mind just goes blank ..but that isn't that often either...

I call girls chick sometimes as a term of affection. Men get called sweetie. And I often give people pet names, but only if I'm sure they are alright with it.

Shaun 07-02-2014 08:51 AM

I don't think I've ever done it before, no. Dear, honey and bitch are my terms of endearment :smug:

Black Dagger 07-02-2014 09:53 AM

I use bby online, but I'd never call anybody babe or baby irl pmsl.

smudgie 07-02-2014 10:32 AM

Babe is the one I cringe at most.

I do say darling to hubby a good bit, to the kids as well.
Of course we call family and friends love, was very common hereabouts as we were growing up.

Livia 07-02-2014 11:15 AM

Never use babe or hun and they make me stick my nails in the palm of my hand.

I like to call people by their name, but sometimes I use darling or mate... usually covering up the face I can't remember their name.

reece(: 07-02-2014 11:31 AM

Sometimes in a piss take manner.

Jake. 07-02-2014 11:32 AM

No because I'm not from Essex/brain dead

Livia 07-02-2014 11:33 AM

I would make an exception for you though, Jakey.

Jake. 07-02-2014 11:34 AM

Likewise... lol

Jesus. 07-02-2014 11:35 AM

I use bab and cocka a bit with my friends - but only because they take the piss out of me for sounding more like a midlander every year.

I like colloquialisms.

AnnieK 07-02-2014 01:45 PM

I answer to anything to be honest, as long as its not too offensive, it doesn't bother me too much

HD 07-02-2014 03:54 PM

Only to annoy people.

If a man said it to me, in a serious manner, I'd cut his tongue out.

Sophiee 07-02-2014 04:23 PM
