Anyone been watching the new Survivor South Africa Season ?
There's been three episodes on so far and it's been OK so far. Not amaaaazzzing yet but it's starting to get interesting.
Each of the two teams has a celebrity captain (South African Rugby & Football players) but they're only there to 'coach' their teams. They also have to make choices and pick certain people for special tasks and stuff but they're not competing and can't win. They also each have a jury vote at the end. It's pretty much the same show as the US one apart from the team coach thing though. There's immunity idols, tribals and all that stuff. If nothing else it's something to watch while you're waiting for the new US Season to start! :hugesmile: |
I'm surprised nobody else has been watching this!
It's actually turned out to be a good season and the episodes have been uploaded every week like clockwork. There's been a pretty interesting addition to the game format in this season (The Captains thing has developed slightly now!) and there's been some interesting characters amongst the players. If you're stuck for something to watch i recommend giving this a go! |

I didn't even know there was a Survivor South Africa. Is it like the US version?

Its like a low budget Survivor US, but its actually good.

I loved what Mark did with his vote squashing power at tribal this week! I think that was the only reason that Shane pretended to be all humble with his idol. Him and Maryan were pretty much called out by their captain and mentor for being sneaky, thieving bastards!:hugesmile: David's an odd character too! I loved when that woman (whose name eludes me) tried to get all forceful and high and mighty with David's idol and it backfired and blew up right in her face at tribal! Was amazing payback!!! :xyxwave: I found links to the previous Seasons the other day as well but i haven't started watching them yet. |

I think he'll do well with votes if he makes it to the end but everyone is very aware of that so i think he's gonna' struggle to make it right to the end. I think Buhle could possibly win it too and i definitely agree regarding Graham. He's playing a great strategic game, probably the best out of all of them! Have you watched all of the 11 episodes that have been on so far now ? The tribal and vote-off in episode 11 has to be one of the craziest i've seen in any Survivor season i think. The new Captain's torch of power which pretty much allows them grant someone of their choice immunity at tribal was a nice extra i think and i was pleasantly surprised at the choice Mark made of who to use it on too. I'm definitely surprised by this version and how much i'm enjoying it! New episode airs tonight so it should be available on Monday sometime.:thumbs: |

One thing that confused me though. Did Shane really lose his second idol? I know he told the girl later on in the show he lied about someone taking it. But if he had it why didn't he gave it to her after the second vote? That part was confusing to me. Shane's plan would have worked if David hadn't flipped or if Mark would have cancelled one of Marian's votes. |
I'm a bit confused about the Shane Idol thing too. I think he made the whole thing up so he could keep both of them for himself.
I think he only took one idol to tribal though and he only tried to give it to Marian because Mark's little speech about honesty and not liking certain things he'd seen them do made him feel like he'd blown his chances so he thought he could re-gain a bit of credibility...............i think. No sign of episode 12 yet but it should be up anytime i hope! |
The new episode was really good. Shane is now a major player with 2 idols.

I'm just about to watch Episode 13 right now!
I got hold of it earlier but i fell asleep so i'm gonna' make myself a large coffee and get my weekly SSA fix!!!:thumbs: I went to start watching Season 3 of the show the other night but it was a Celebrity one so i didn't bother. I found Season 2 as well but the quality is rather bad and each episode is uploaded in about 5 separate videos. I'm trying to see if i can find any better quality anywhere. |
