Mobile gaming and microtransactions
What is everyone's general opinion on microtransactions in video games? Microtransactions have become increasingly dominant in mobile gaming. For example Candy Crush Saga, a game that is basically a modern day Bejewelled, except it's mechanics try to force you to buy **** just so you can keep playing.
The sad thing is, people DO buy ****, just so they can keep playing, and its wrong, doesn't anyone else miss the days when you could buy a game and not have to spend more money on crappy microtransactions? |
I have spent about 60p on CCS about twice I think... now I'm content just spamming the crap out of facebook friends who do the same.

I play CCS I refuse to pester my friends and be a nuisance, I can't stand that. I refuse to pay extra so I just play the 3 quests and wait 1 day in between each

candy crush has got me a few times when i was really close to beating a level i'd been stuck on for a long time. I always feel like such a loser for giving in though., haven't played candy crush in months for mainly that reason. also buying extra levels on where's the water.
It's definitely a scam, and it sucks that now they design the games in advance to make people have to buy add ons. I can sort of understand it for the free games, but it's even happening in the pay games now. When you pay for a game upfront that should be the only time they ask you for money imo. It's especially infuriating when they have ads in a game that you've paid for. |
I jailbreak the device and get the transactions for free
