Girls Aloud Mime Shock

Interesting article in today's Sun Online about Girls Aloud miming to their No. 1 single on the Top of the Pops Xmas Show - CLICK HERE to read it - while One True Voice sang live.

Chris says he may force bands to sing live on TOTP — if fans agree.
Of course fans agree! Bet some of today's artists will be quaking in their boots at the thought, though.

Except Will Young, of course - he ALWAYS sings live . . . . . . he says it's because he forgets the words and would be out of synch with the backing tape, but the real reason is simply because he CAN!!!

Oh, and I have to say that up until now, One True Voice have always sang live. Such a pity that they were given such a poor song for their debut single by Pete. :bawling:

I agree Kaz. I never liked the girls song either mind you, it's awful, but I'm not surprised it sold better.

The boys are so much better than the girls, they can all sing, and at least a couple of them have really good voices. Let's hope that they get a chance to shine on their next single.

I really like the girls song and still havent tired of it but Im surprised they sang live time will tell though when the boys will last longer. It's a shame as you'd think the girls would have learned by now the kind of slating musicians get if they don't sing live.

They weren't very good on Top of the Pops were they?

You could tell they weren't miming because some of them were totally out of key! How did that Cheryl Tweedy (is that her name?) get in the band. :conf:

They just aren't very musically talented which is a problem if you want to be in a band, I would have thought.

I don't think either of the bands are very talented, but undeniably the girls song was 100 times better then the drivel the boys came out with!

Yes that's her name, James - and she sings flat as a bl**dy pancake!! She was the first one voted into the band by the public too.

I have absolutely no idea why . . . . . . . especially when Javine was left out - and she actually could sing very well. :conf:

LEE 10-01-2003 07:41 PM

I agree with both of you. Cheryl is awful.

Javine was the only one of the final 6 girls who could sing. I hope she makes a go of a solo career as I think she could do very well.

Nadine can sing.

although she has absolutely no rhythm and has two left stumps

The poor loves there under a lot of pressure.:thumbs:I mean they must be getting about a £1000 quid a week paid into there bank accounts the pressure they must be under shopping, trying to spend that much.

They didn't sing live again tonight on the Ant and Dec show :nono:

steve_o 11-01-2003 07:50 PM

As you can tell I havent got a lot of time for people who've got no talent, if they start writing there own songs, and play some instruments I might sit up and take notice. Notice how if there was anyone with more talent but might be a bit plane they wouldnt be in there. It's just a big con. ok there fit enough, but is that it.:thumbs:I must be getting old:laugh::joker:

:spin:

I saw them tonight on Ant and Dec and can't say I was impressed with either them or their song.

How come it got to No. 1?

Well, Steve, I can't comment on what constitutes as 'fit' to a chap.

I suspect a good make up artist is still essential in their entourage.

Time will be the great leveller. Let's see where they are in two years time.

STILL won't be able to sing!

Dunno ROB, maybe as a Paul Clarke type figure.:thumbs:
