Have you ever been stuck in a lift?
I have once a few years ago, it was so embarassing lol
my mum got stuck in one with my older brother (who was younger at the time), they actually had to climb out as it wasn't level and she developed a phobia because of it. This was in about 1991 and she's never ever been a lift since except for one time in 2006, it was an emergency but her phobia still didn't go. my mum gets paranoid over everything lmao, she even gets panicky if we're in a car and have to go through a tunnel that's under water |
Yes, It was a hotel in Egypt. I was with two foreign people, no one else I knew. It was a glass elevator too.
|
Yeah when I was younger and I am still scared to go in them.I don't go in them, I go the stairs
|
Yes and it was terrifying, plus opening the emergency phone thing to find it had been ripped out and replaced with an empty buckfast bottle just made it even worse.
I take the stairs over the lift whenever possible and if I do have to get in one then I feel really uneasy. |
Nah but it's one of my worst nightmares.

it's not that bad  just boring having to wait
|
Thankfully not, but I'd be terrified if I did.
|
If I had my phone I'd be fine. Being stuck with strangers would also be awkward, there's no getting away from that. The only fear I have is getting stuck during a fire, it would be like being roasted alive.
|
no, i would have already died of a heart attack if i had.
don't even talk about getting stuck in elevators because that's already one of my biggest fears, especially cause the elevator in my apartment building is so ghetto. it rattles and makes weird noises, and sometimes when it stops it's not perfectly level with the floor. I get so paranoid about the elevator, please stop, you're just fueling my anxiety. |

I am usually really nervous about getting into the all metal ones. Glass ones dont bother me as much though.. |
I have been going by stairs since 2007
I was in a lift at asda it stopped moving and I was pressing the alarm button but they though the noise from the alarm button was a fire alarm so the staff went out side, then they came back 15 min later and let me out, I though i was going to die in a lift in asda |
I haven't been and I usually don't even think of the possibility of it happening to be honest  I always thought it was fairly uncommon but seeing all the posts in here of who it's happened to I'm starting to think maybe it's not so unlikely...

I used to have an obsession/fascination with lifts, when I went on holiday to Spain when I was about 8/9 I spent most of the days acting as like a lift attendant, asking people what floor they wanted when they got in :joker: :joker: and I'd just spend hours pressing buttons and taking people up and down in the lift, how ridiculous looking back...my dad got really annoyed as well at the time cause I was just wasting the holiday
Actually I did sh*t myself at one point though cause I was in it alone and the doors wouldn't open and I had to push them apart, I think I stopped doing it after that I don't mind them though |
My college lets us use lifts, it make life 3000000x easier
|
No never, I can't believe the number of people who've 1) been stuck in one and 2) are terrified of them!? Wow
|
I've never been stuck in one, and it wouldn't bother me if I was. I'm not claustrophobic.
|
i got stuck in a lift and while a fireman was getting me out i made up a poem - he told me quite politely if i don't put a sock on it he is going to leave me there.
of-course i did complain to the fire-station in normal poetry style and i was told by the watch commander i have passed being helped. |
