I wonder if I take you home
|
Ahh before they were dreadful
|
pump it was garbage though
|
They really did ruin themselves after "Monkey Business" didn't they? Such a shame. :(
EDIT: The E.N.D. had "some" good bits, but The Beginning is God AWFUL! |

the beginning on the other hand.. |
I get that BEP did what they had to do to survive but it was just such a selling out of the highest order, I think they lost every shred of credibility they once had with the entire The Beginning campaign. I was hoping The E.N.D was just a one off but they carried that sound on to a second album and then disbanded. Shameful.

none of these are bad |
10/10 song. This and Where Is The Love were amazing.. Not really a fan of any of their other songs.
|
Their best song is Shut Up tho
|
Where is the love is a cheesy mess
Shut Up, My Humps & Don't Phunk > |
WITL and Meet Me Halfway
|
TBF, as terrible as the later albums were, I do think that they did the whole electro thing before it became so mainstream.
If The Beginning was released now and Danny Howard gave it a few spins, it'd probably be on every chavs phone. :idc: But yeah. Don't Phunk is my top BEP single. Maybe not track though. |

Meet Me Halfway
That was their last good single imo. This Time (Dirty Bit) was aids. |
Don't Lie = their best

And Rock That Body is still pretty decent for an EDM-sort-of song. |
I always forget that My Humps is BEP, always think it's just Fergie
|
It's a shame in the electro albums they did that it was mostly just will.i.am showcasing himself with little inputs from the others here and there. Fergie and apl >
|
I kinda liked this too.
...But like Recce just said, this is pretty much just a Will.I.Am song. The more I think about it, I liked Don't Stop The Party and Just Can't Get Enough. I think BEP 2.0 weren't that bad. Just such a step down from what they were. But as a separate entity I think they were decent. |
Where is the love >
|
BEP's electro revival was good, it's just they had two monster hits that got massively overplayed which made it annoying and then they produced a second album in the exact same vein so it just made them annoying by default and now will.i.am's been doing that exact same sound as a solo artist for a few years and it's gotten to the point where people forget that BEP are actually very talented because they were just producing the most basic EDM ****e for hits.
|
i can't believe the will.i.am we see now is the same guy who's produced songs like Beep, Clumsy and American Boy
|
I know... it's a total regression in ability and talent in order to appeal to the basic common denominator. Of course, profits matter more than musical legacy to most people but it's not like will.i.am was some unknown small time singer-songwriter-producer before he turned into this naff electro music factory; Black Eyed Peas were successful before they went down that route.
