Sol Campbell thinks England is essentially racist
Sol Campbell, one of his own biggest fans, thinks that if he had not been black he would have been England Captain for 10 years.
Do you agree? http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...mpbell-006.jpg |
he is going on about
Back in the Day |
No, he's an idiot who seems to seriously overestimate his abilities
|
Was Michael Jackson ever made captain of England?
Case closed. |
He was overrated. He still is.
|
He was never going to be Captain over Beckham and that reason has nothing to do with race. More branding and superstardom.
|
As England's first black captain Paul Ince said, 'no one captains England for ten years'. Sol's got a new book out right? :bored:
|
Did anyone here his interview yesterday? Deluded does not cover it.
|
A ploy to get everyone to talk about/read his book, which has essentially worked, pretty smart plan
As for the comment itself I'd have to see the context but it might be a bit tongue in cheek, you don't really have a captain for 10 years and it's more down to the ability of others more than his ability, he was never going to be captain over Becks |
Although the society of black lawyers will be happy that they can get their faces on TV again
|
It's just sour Grapes (and not necessarily black ones !!)

I think obviously minorities face more challenges and discrimination, he's certainly right about that, in every country including England. but I doubt that's why he wasn't England Captain.
|
Making a controversial comments just before a book comes out, someone's taken on board his publicists advice. Sol was never Captain material.
