Bandages and bedpans

Is anyone else following this series? it's a fly on the wall following student nurses I'm applying to do this next year...

'Training to be a nurse has changed dramatically since the early days of the NHS. Greater demands and added responsibility make it harder to qualify than ever before. At universities all over the country, a new generation of nurses is being born.

From rock drummers to carpet fitters, Student Nurses: Bedpans and Bandages follows the diverse backgrounds and lives of trainee nurses in Birmingham and Manchester, with all the pressures, emotions and challenges they face both in training and on the wards.

The series offers an insight into what it takes to become a nurse in the 21st century, uncovers the motivation behind the student nurses’ dreams and showing the challenges they face on a daily basis juggling academic study with home life and work on the wards.'

I meant to watch it.
Might catch it on catch up.
Good for you Kizzy, something I could not do, far too squeamish.
Some great nurses in this country.
They only seem to get a mention when it is negative comments.

My friend has just been accepted in uni to retrain as a paediatric nurse. She's had a year of studying to get accepted at uni and has been offered her place this week...going to be a long, hard slog and she's got 3 young kids but so proud of her

A very hard and demanding career too, it must be really difficult at times to separate your emotions as to some patients.

I have Cousins who are Nurses and they literally are at times physically and emotionally drained.
This is a good series overall and I always wish the best of luck to anyone who intends to be and who already are Nurses.

No, god knows what images it'll bring up.

You'll be like Hattie Jacques in the carry on films.
