Surprised no one mentioned this... The Garveys will be leaving at the end of the next series! There were a few rumours going around although Derren (writer of Benidorm) confirmed it last month: https://twitter.com/DerrenLitten/sta...11525145133056

I think it's a big shame. I doubt ITV will renew it for an eighth series, but if they do I wonder whether the show will cope at all without The Garveys, who have been the focal point of the storylines.

Was just about to say the exact same. No Madge, no show tbh :sad:

The only other characters it'd be worth watching for would be Donald and Jacqueline. Les, Kenneth, Liam and The Dykes are all just awful.

Why must they get rid of the Garveys right before it's going to be acceptable to find Michael attractive :sad:

I don't know if it could survive without them really, but I always think when most shows reach their seventh or eighth year/series then they may as well just go for the milestone ten. That tweet more or less says they wouldn't rule out returning so maybe a couple of series without them before they return for the last ever one? I don't know though, they're the stars of the show tbh

ITV will probably wait to see how series seven performs next year before considering an axe or re-comission but it has a loyal audience, will they really want to throw them away? Maybe they'd just take the risk of a Garvey-less series and see how it'd do
