Lol LT. :D be'ave....

I'm not sure if it'll be my cup of tea, but I'm trying to watch stuff that's a bit outside my usual taste more lately, so I'd give it a try. It's got an excellent cast, the effects look pretty stunning. Hmm, potentially really good.

Josy 25-03-2014 12:45 PM

I think it looks pretty good, from the ads that's been on for it, don't like Russell Crowe though.

That clip is like one big movie cliche with crowe and winston hamming it up like a pig factory.

Notice they did now show the bit where they are both arm in arm singing

"the animals went in 2 by 2 hurrah"

Crimson Dynamo 25-03-2014 12:49 PM

Noah's director Darren Aronofsky, a self-described atheist who made the Oscar-nominated hit The Black Swan, has described the movie as is "the least biblical biblical film ever made" and called Noah "the first environmentalist". According to one early review, the name "God" is not actually spoken at any stage.

Now, amid a wave of criticism from some Christian groups about its loose interpretation of a sacred script, the Paramount studio has taken the unusual step of issuing an "explanatory message" to accompany marketing material.

I don't like Russel Crowe at all so that puts me off straight away, but I like the concept,I like religious epics,so will be interested to see how this is different, just a shame about that leading man

Crimson Dynamo 25-03-2014 12:54 PM

UPDATED: Three days after saying he hopes the film is a "massive failure," the radio host calls the movie "strongly anti-human" and says Noah has "no redeeming value."

Glenn Beck delivered a mea culpa of sorts over his proclamation Friday that he wouldn't see Noah because it amounted to "dangerous disinformation," and on Monday he told his audience he saw the film and thought it was lousy, but not the anti-religious environmentalist propaganda he had presumed.

I would love to be able to come and report that the movie is great, but I can't. It is awful. But not for the reasons the reviewer said on Friday. It is awful for a hundred other reasons," Beck told his audience Monday.

While on Friday he said he hoped the film would be "a massive failure" because it distorts the Bible's story of Noah and its meaning, on Monday he didn't seem to think the movie had that sort of power because it is so laughably bad.

Ammi 25-03-2014 02:03 PM

..I've liked Russell Crowe in a few things although he isn't a favourite, is this an Easter release then..I think it'll either be totally awful or just not quite so awful, not really my sort of thing though...great cast...

Crimson Dynamo 25-03-2014 02:05 PM

It will be rated as a documentary in the States

Yeah, I really don't like him either, he would turn me off watching a film

Oh.. the Christians are critical. Aren't they that New Testament lot?

Why would an Athiest think it's okay to make a story from the Old Testament into a film, and then say "it isn't religious"? It's the most idiotic of statements. If you wanted to make a film like the Noah's Ark story, why not do that, and call it something else?

It really is.

It's almost like saying Jesus of Nazareth has nothing to do with Christianity.

Marsh. 25-03-2014 02:48 PM

Oh dear, and Ray Winstone is in it too with his Eastenders gangster performance? :hehe:

Niamh. 25-03-2014 02:49 PM

Cheap Evan Almighty rip off if you ask me :idc:

Crimson Dynamo 25-03-2014 02:51 PM
