Kimberley Walsh has expressed her relief after she found out her unborn baby was safe after the former Girls Aloud star suffered a fall and broke her wrist.

The singer slipped over at the weekend and broke her wrist but went to the doctor on Tuesday to make sure everything was fine.

She tweeted: "Just been for a check up & our little munchkin is fine! I successfully took the entire weight of my fall on my wrist so baby is very happy.

"The baby was literally waving at me to tell me everything's fine."

Kimberley, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Justin Scott, found out she was pregnant on New Year's Day.

The star told OK! Magazine: "It was a great way to start the New Year."

And it's not just Kimberley and beau Scott who are delighted at the news - Kimberley revealed best friend Cheryl Cole burst into tears when she told her she was having a baby.

Kimberley said: "Cheryl burst into tears of joy when I told her I was pregnant."

The brunette beauties have been the best of friends since the start of Girls Aloud but she admits she'll have more to talk about with their fellow former bandmate Nadine Coyle as she is also expecting.

She said: "Nadine and I will have a lot more in common now."
