The Lady Driver of the Chicago train crash was asleep

[The driver was asleep at the controls when
a commuter train barreled through the protective end bumper
of its stop at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport
earlier this week -- but two backup systems should have saved the train, the NTSB said.]

"She dozed off on another
time as well, skipping a station." ref : FoxNewsHD Chicago

Silly bitch.

Kazanne 27-03-2014 05:51 PM

She was probably tired as she was feeding and changing baby in the night as hubby lay sleeping, lol

Livia 27-03-2014 05:51 PM

In no other train crash I've ever read about did it comment on the "male" driver.

Jack_ 27-03-2014 05:54 PM

Not quite sure what relevance her being female has to do with this story

Lots of train incidents (and car crashes, for that matter) occur because the driver has dozed off. And lots of them are male. Potentially more, at a guess, as "dozing off" when over-tired is actually a more male trait biologically speaking, to conserve energy for physical activity (hunting, fighting) whereas females tend to be able to stay awake more easily when tired, probably linked to being biologically geared towards caring for infants. Think of the stereotypical "man dozing off infront of the telly".

So yeah... Men are theoretically more prone to falling asleep at the wheel than women. Though I don't have any actual crash statistics to back that up.

My dad is constantly preaching the "never drive tired!" Message, as he fell asleep at the wheel on the way home from a nightshift many years ago. He ended up with a bashed up car being dragged out of a field by a farmers tractor... he wasn't hurt, but it could obviously have been much, much worse. Especially if he had strayed onto the wrong side of the road and hit another car.

lol at the fact they had to mention she was female

when how many of the past few train/bus accidents have been male drivers?

not saying its mens fault at all, but the cheek and idiocy to even mention the fact that she's female... jesus christ

Crimson Dynamo 27-03-2014 07:54 PM

I am note sure why it would not be mentioned she was female

avoid conclusions

Kizzy 28-03-2014 12:31 AM

It's not a mans job, since when did owning an appendage make it easier to operate machinery?

Marsh. 28-03-2014 12:46 AM

Was she fat arista?

Marsh. 28-03-2014 12:46 AM

What about class? Did she come from a council estate?

They do not have Council Estates in America

She was a Worker
that crashed her train
costing that company big money

Ammi 28-03-2014 06:17 AM

..the article doesn't refer to her as a 'female driver', just as 'she' in the way it would also refer to a male as 'he'..?....anyway, driving while tired and being responsible for other people's lives was just dumb and irresponsible, it could have meant a multiple loss of lives and devastation to many people/families...I think it's probably right that the repercussions for her are severe if she's due to be fired....
