why cant we make comedies like wedding crashers? zoolander etc

is it just money? because these arent the most expensive types of movies?

it seems they yanks and the ameerican comic actors especially bring a different more positive optimistic type of comedy to the screen....they seem to back their talent and their writers and they make a fortune too

why dont we back our talent and why dont we seem to want to make this types of movies?

apart from something about mary and meet the parents. those other movies are terrible thank god we dont lol

cause were best at being miserable. thats why america want us all as character actors and villians lol,
we have mr bean thats better than most of that list

no it really doesnt. even though its the best of pythons mostly appalingly poor films

Godfather, goodfellas, king of new york, the departed, casino, once upon a time in america, al capone, public enemy, the untouchables , angels with dirty faces , etc etc

all our gangster movies consist of is meathead cockneys who all look and sound like grant mitchell with absolutely no charisma , no intelligence , etc

the american ganster movies are complex rich multi layered, with incredibly rich brilliantly drawn out characters....brit gangster films seem to think all you need to be a gansgter boss is a gun or a knife.....a gangster boss of serious wealth must also possess tremendous charisma, emotional intelligence, he must be respected and feared by all

we havent got a clue how to make anything other than narrow predictable parochial little englander gangster films though no one outside the bowbells would want to see

:hugesmile: Look who's Brit bashing again. First it was British women and now it's a tiny British film industry that neither has the finance or interest in competing with the larger American market.

Mind you it doesn't stop there being huge amounts of British directors, actors, light and sound effects engineers being hired in the big cheese. :think:

yeah i do. a lot of them are low budget and not known but are more real than most of the u.s ones. thats what i like to see. something like as good as some of those you mentioned but with british realisim. which we do best.

the problem with u.s movies and shows is they water everything down.except for the language . never understood the controversy of reservoir dogs when our movies are far more violent in one scene than that whole movie. what i mean is imagine those films with our grit or our grit and their budget. its not all cockney gangsters though lock stock snatch are awesome

lol@eastenders reality tv killed any chance we had of making a sopranos or breaking bad. both are great shows but watered down violence and language.
