Bad Romance superstar Lady Gaga celebrated turning 28 with, yes, you guessed it - an amazing array of bizarre and wonderful outfits.

The always controversial Gaga showed she may be getting older - but she's certainly getting no wiser - with EIGHT completely crazy fashion choices.

The day started with a bizarre lampshade-esque headpiece, futuristic blue two-piece and sky-high white platform shoes, and ended with the diva in her birthday suit.

At least there was no vomit or raw meat this time.

The outlandish pop star spent her birthday kicking off her seven-night residency at the Roseland Ballroom in New York.

She arrived at rehearsal in a super-sheer black and white cat suit and during the show rocked various bralets, teeny-weeny pants and fishnet stockings.

Gaga earlier tweeted her 41m 'little monsters' saying: "ITS SHOWTIME BABY! So far this has been the best bday ever!

"Time to give Roseland the goodbye it deserves, with all the roses in NY!"

Born This Way star Gaga will be the final performer at New York's Roseland before it closes its doors for the final time and is replaced with apartments.
