The name 'Niamh'...

I've always had a bit of trouble saying the name 'Niamh'.

I've heard people say 'Naomi' and I've heard others say it is 'Neev'...

Could someone clear this up for me?...

She fell in love with Fionn’s son Oisin (read the legend of Niamh and Oisin) and lived with him in Tir-na-nOg (“Land of the Young”) (read the legend) where 300 years passed in what seemed like three weeks.
So this Niamh lived to be 300 too?

Jordan. 31-03-2014 09:32 PM

I have trouble with Eoin - I know how it's pronounced but I have a childhood friend whose name is spelled that way but it's pronounced like Iain, which is wrong, but that's his name.

Glenn. 31-03-2014 09:59 PM

I still read Niamh as neema. Reading it how's it's pronounced makes me angry.

Ninastar 31-03-2014 10:13 PM

I say nimph
