Which celebrity death has shocked/saddened you most...

..there seems to have been a lot of 'young celebrity deaths' in particular as well as some older ones over the last few years..Amy Winehouse, Brittany Murphy, Heath Ledger, Paul Walker, Cory Monteith and of course Peaches Geldof... there are more, I'm sure...which one has shocked or saddened you most ..?...

..and also, there is often debate etc over how sad people can feel over the death of a celebrity when they're not people we personally know ...what did that celebrity 'mean to you'/in your life etc..why so sad, type thing..?...

None really. It's not pleasant when people die but apart from that I don't know these people so it's hard not to feel anything more than token remorse and condolence.

I don't want that to sound cold and heartless cos that's not how I mean it it's just I don't hold celebrities in any more regard than your average lay person.

Hmm... shock wise, probably Amy Winehouse, because I thought (and still think) that her music is fantastic, and I felt sad about how she died and the circumstances... people who say things like 'she was on drugs so it's her fault' really do grate me, if you're that small minded that you can't see the bigger picture then you shouldn't shout your opinion out in the first place imo

Gstar 09-04-2014 09:16 AM

Princess Diana, Aaliyah, Left eye, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse

I can understand how someone who has a talent and has entertained would make this list but someone who just had a famous dad?

This is pretty much how I feel. Unless they have a connection to my life, then I don't understand the celeb mourning and the meaningless RIP's posted on an internet forum. I know we're all different, but I personally just don't get it.

MJ I was both shocked and it honestly felt like someone I know had died.
I was to young when it happened to even know who they are but looking back Aaliyah and left eyes death is really upsetting.

I don't think it's proper "mourning" like as if you knew the person but If you were a fan of their work etc could you not see why people would be saddened a little? You don't know the person like you'd know a friend or family member but you know them better than a stranger

Most wrestlers deaths have saddened me over the years greatly, what with me having a passion for it since I was 3 years old, Eddie Guerrero was probably my worst, think I cried for 4 days </3.

Heath Ledger upset me a lot as well.

Brother Leon 09-04-2014 01:35 PM

Eddie Guerrero and MJ.

Nate Dogg too was super sad.

Drew. 09-04-2014 01:39 PM

Paul Walker & MJ.. Especially Paul, F&F movies have been my favourite ever since the first one came out.
