The Liberal Party - not good in the 1970's

The article, despite being entitled "How the Liberal party, police and MI5 concealed MP Cyril Smith's industrial-scale child abuse" doesn't tell you "how". But it does say this:

"Now, an explosive new book serialised in the Daily Mail details how Smith – who died in 2010 aged 82 – was repeatedly protected despite being arrested for a string of sex crimes."

So presumably we've either to buy the Daily Mail or buy the book. It seems obscene to me that after all these years these facts have come to light, and people are going to use them to make money.

Nothing can be done about these cases now, especially when the accused is dead. I think less effort should be put into gathering all the salacious gossip about them and use that energy and those resources to fight child abuse right now.
