Yeah, they're great as a base for a soup or stew and also in curries and dal.
They're a great source of protein Jords, that's why they're so popular as an ingredient in veggie cooking as a replacement protein instead of the meat. |

I love them but only when other people are cooking with them, I cannot be sacked with soaking them in water for fifteen decades

Salmon on a bed of brown rice with green lentils and wilted spinach is one of my favourite meals. If you put a veg stock cube in the water when cooking the rice and lentils it is :love:

I'm pretty sure that it's chickpeas that need to be soaked.
They're much larger than lentils (around the size of a de-shelled hazelnut)and they have quite a 'nutty' taste. |
