Do you still have an ice-cream van...

..yeah, I copied this from DS but it just made me think that I don't think we have had one for a few years now...do you still have one regularly/99s..?...

AnnieK 16-04-2014 05:35 AM

We do but she comes at stupid times....on Sunday it was 9pm...all the little kids were in bed and then she put the tune on...you could almost hear the collective groan from parents

I remember when we were kids running like mad with no shoes on trying to catch him before he left screaming all the way!! Nothing was better than an ice cream from the ice cream man after a long hard day playing

LikeABoatOnWater 16-04-2014 05:49 AM

Yeah, ares sell crack and pills though

Ryan57 16-04-2014 09:20 AM

Heard our usual one on Sunday.

Surprised he comes onto my street due to bad memories.

Kazanne 16-04-2014 09:39 AM

Yes we have one come round daily, dont use it much now tbh ,usually got stuff in the freezer

lostalex 16-04-2014 09:43 AM

yea, we've still got one round here, usually comes around 2pm during the summer. Also there's a little mexican guy that has an ice-cream push cart that walks around the local lake.. his little cart doesn't seem to be electric at all, so he must fill it with dry ice or something.

Kizzy 16-04-2014 09:52 AM

We've had the same ice cream man for 40 odd yrs! mr rossi in Pudsey.

MTVN 16-04-2014 10:15 AM

We do have one that comes on a Sunday but it seems completely random whether he turns up or not, strangely he is most reliable in the winter months, but then I suppose they often go to fairs and big outdoor events in the summer

Josy 16-04-2014 10:47 AM

Yes we have but the driver just decides randomly when to come round, one of those ones that are never to be seen when it's sunny then decide to do his run when it's blowing a blizzard.

My family used to own some ice cream vans when I was a teenager and I loved going out to work on them, you got to know quite a lot about the regulars lives... like there was one little boy we weren't allowed to sell ice poles to because he was addicted to them and then there was a junkie woman that used to come for weird things like 4 penny sweets, stuff like that

His parents died in one of the houses due to a gas fire problem. His sister might also of done as well, unsure on her. Definitely his parents did, unfortunately.

Spoiler:

That same house that I currently reside in. :umm2:

Jack. 16-04-2014 11:31 AM

Natalie. 16-04-2014 12:36 PM

..wow poor guy, I don't think I could keep on going down the street..did his sister just 'disappear' then if they were not sure she was in the fire..?..

Vicky. 16-04-2014 12:58 PM

Yup, and he still sells dodgy tabs like years ago, and also certain kinds of drugs. Tainted my view on icecream men as a kid actually, seeing the adults/teens getting dope and such off him

smeagol 16-04-2014 01:04 PM

yeah its good they play the jingle when its down the street that way you know when the pedo has arrived lol
