I always thought it was hummus but I guess the other one's 'correct'. Not something I can see cropping up often, though

Its Houmous and pronounced Hoo-ms

its lovely but can make you smell of garlic the next day so I avoid it

Don't think houmous is a word I've ever had to spell in my life but I suppose I would do it the second way
