One user said: “Please don’t tell me this is Madeleine McCann, she has the same mark on her left eye.’’

A source close to the McCanns said while the girl in the photo bore some resemblance to images of how Madeleine may look now, the apparent flaw was in the wrong eye.

Madeleine’s defect should be in her right eye while the girl in the crowd’s appears to be in the left one. ********.gif

“What is encouraging is that it shows everyone is still looking for Madeleine,’’ said a friend of the family.

“That will give her family great strength.”

New ground searches near the apartment the McCanns were staying in when their daughter disappeared are expected to start within days.

There are millions of girls her age that look similar, these comparisons piss me off because of how bad they are but they still go viral and people fall for them.

And would her kidnappers seriously take her to a football match watched by a thousands in a ground and millions more across the world? Please.

It can't be because she doesn't look sad, a kid who's been kidnapped isn't going to be seen enjoying themselves at a football match

Why would someone who kidnaped a girl (who's disappearance was more covered than a nun) risk taking her to a football game?
They need to give this story a rest until they find her.

It looks a bit like she looked 4 or 5 years ago, but Maddie would have been about 11 now and this girl is only about 7 or 8

To me, that kid looks nothing like Madeleine anyway besides being blonde :shrug:

I don't think people should be allowed to spread random photos of a child over the internet tbh, though I have no idea how to stop it.
