Hello everyone

I lost my Mam last week and she was my best friend not just my Mam she was 90 years old and we went to bingo twice a week she loved to go out.
Mam and Dad had been married 71years on the 6th June and Dad is 94 years old and bless him he's finding it very hard but we will take good care of him.
We say goodbye to her in the morning at 10am on the 13th.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers.

Aw..sorry to hear that

I lost my grandad recently -he was 96. My nan died 8 years ago and they had been married for 60 odd years. He took it hard and we worried how he would cope...but he did wonderfully. He missed her every minute but he soldiered on.

My thoughts are with you, your dad and your family. Be strong

So sorry to hear your sad news Patricia.

It sounds like your mam was a gem, being best friends with your mam must have been wonderful it sounds like your mam and dad had a good long marriage as well, full of wonderful memories.
Your dad is bound to find it hard, but he has a lovely daughter to help him through.
My thoughts will be with you and your family tomorrow.

I know its probably not a comfort to you but 90 is a great age to make it to, We lost my Grandad in his late 60's, part of the pain was that he never really got to experience retirement and that it was un-expected, It's going to be hard on all of yous but yous need to stick together, especially for your father.

Thankyou all so much its nice to read all your message's we are up early and dreading the day but I need to be strong.Im the only child but Ive a son 42 and a daughter 40 so they are taking care of me plus my man is a rock he tried to keep mam alive but couldn't so he's to live with that which will be hard.

Ammi 13-06-2014 06:21 AM

..oh, I've just read this Patricia..I'm so sorry to hear of your loss..but it's not really a 'loss' to have had someone you loved so much being a part of your life for so long and for your parents to have had each other in their lives for such a long time as well...it couldn't be more of a 'gain' and I'm sure you feel that and everyone who knew her, feels that..that they were lucky to have had her in their lives for such a long time and what she will have left through knowing her, will always be there..I know that you and your family will celebrate her well this morning, Patricia...

Dad coped great very proud of him he was better than me the flowers looked beautiful on her coffin but following her in that for 3 miles was sad.The minister did a beautiful service she was great and we had 30 guests family and friends so a great send off for her,all Dad is waiting for now is her ashes.
I wish to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers and love for myself and all my family. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I will let you all read this message and then I will ask for it to be closed.
