I saw your post in the lounge about having to wait like a day for your router to work, that's so bizzarre. I have AOL ffs and when we replaced the router a few weeks back it connected immediately

W had BT Infinity Jake a few months ago have to say their internet was really fast,I think it took a couple of days to get up to speed, but we were connected immediately, the only reason we changed is we wanted the SKY package, but we thought the infinity excellent.

Basically Infinity is with Open Reach, and we have an Open Reach box connected in the downstairs cupboard which was left by the previous tennants.. I'm going to get confusing now so bear with me  we have to wait until at least midnight for the internet to come on which is fine.. what I don't get is the Open Reach box and whether it needs to be switched on or not..

When the OR box is off, the BT modem has a stable orange light and a flashing red light underneath which indicates that a cable might be missing but it could also be because the net isn't switched on yet so says to wait until midnight...

With the OR box switched on, the orange stable light remains but the flashing red light disappears. . So I'm just confused as to if this OR box needs to be plugged in or not

Do you have an Open Reach box set up anywhere?

Yeah, that's what we have right now, but we're moving house soon and BT are upgrading our hub to the BT Hub 5.

I'll give that a go then, thanks

Argh, I've just found out the Hub 5 doesn't need the Openreach box  I'm gonna call them tomorrow about an upgrade, I feel cheated

Here's a user guide if that helps: http://btsupport.custhelp.com/ci/fat...399/redirect/1
