Hms favourite ballads.
Find out the housemates' favourite power ballads
What's Big Brother's favourite kind of music? The good old power ballad, of course! We asked all the housemates to pick their favourite power ballads, and the results were pretty revealing...
A couple of housemates went for songs that emphasised the 'power' part of 'power ballad', suggesting this ambitious lot are in it to win it. Marlon picked Queen's singalong classic We Are The Champions, while Jale went for something similarly anthemic, choosing The Final Countdown by Europe.
Steven and Helen both went for The Power Of Love by Huey Lewis and the News, so either they reckon love might be the path to victory, or they're just really big Back To The Future fans. And Tamara picked Snap's I've Got The Power, which has turned out to be a sadly inaccurate summary of her time in the Big Brother House.
Some of the others went for more emotional songs - or at least the kind of song you can imagine belting out in the shower. Christopher went for everyone's favourite karaoke classic Total Eclipse Of The Heart, while Matthew chose Michael Jackson's socially conscious smash Earth Song. Chris chose Alone by Heart, Ash plumped for Boston's More Than A Feeling, and Danielle went for Peter Cetera's Glory Of Love.
There were a few unconventional choices in the mix, too. Pauline picked R'n'B slow jam Cry For You by Jodeci while Toya picked R. Kelly's I Wish, neither of which technically qualifies as a power ballad (not that we're going to argue with them).
Predictably, Mark went for a Mariah Carey track: he chose We Belong Together. And Winston just wrote down some lyrics. They weren't entirely accurate, but we think he was probably aiming for Celine Dion's Think Twice. He's a sensitive soul, that one.
Which just leaves Kimberly and Ashleigh, neither of whom picked a favourite power ballad. We're not sure what that means, except maybe that someone needs to buy them a Best Of The 80s CD boxset each.
