It's official - Emma simply hasn't got the guts

when it comes to interviewing unpleasant Housemates. A spineless interview in which she barely made any proper attempt to challenge her.

For example, the issue of food - and Jale being greedy with it. An outright lie! We know that she took less than Ash and yet Pauline blithely lied about that, without Emma strongly challenging her ie "Sorry, Pauline, that isn't true. We saw it."

She is a pathetic interviewer.

rubymoo 20-06-2014 10:00 PM

In Emma's defence she didn't have much time and i thought she was a bit more challenging, i could see Pauline getting a little aggrevated. I've seen her do worse interviews.

Emmas not into this series you can tell i think she just likes fun not drama.

ruiphillips 20-06-2014 10:07 PM

Emma is the best interviewer were going to get or would you like Newsnight worthy Brian to return with his flawless interviews and presenting?

Jordan. 20-06-2014 10:08 PM

Well no she's the host, she still has to be professional and impartial

Samm 20-06-2014 10:08 PM

Emma > Davina (Late BB era) > Brian

GypsyGoth 20-06-2014 10:11 PM

Emma did a fine job with a very difficult interviewee.

Shaun 20-06-2014 10:13 PM

she had about 5 minutes with the most delusional and intolerant housemate possible. Not sure what could've been accomplished.

armand.kay 20-06-2014 10:17 PM

Shes supposed to remain impartial its unfair if some housemates get special treatment because Emma liked them.

Vicky. 20-06-2014 10:18 PM

I thought she made it very obvious that she didnt like Pauline...

Also..this thread reminded me of when Brian literally ran away from a HM one time

No-one said it was easy but it's her job. If she can't do it, she should hand over to someone else. Look at Vanessa Feltz on BBBOTS - it can be done.

Vanessa had an open mic, no crowd noise, no pressure of remaining impartial nor a producer screaming the time at her

Cal. 20-06-2014 10:32 PM

I thought she challenged Pauline in the best professional way possible tbh, if she'd gone at it like Vanessa Feltz she'd receive criticism for being unfair like Davina did in her interviews with Makosi for instance.

Some people can do it - if Emma can't do it, she should hand over to someone else. Being difficult is not an excuse. The public expects the likes of Pauline to get thoroughly but fairly grilled - and called out on their behaviour. It didn't happen in this case which was a disgrace.

Exactly. I remember I used to visit DS a lot during Davina's years and she was damned if she did and damned if she didn't.

She was either too mean, too soft, too impartial, too personal, too opinionated.

They can't win.

smudgie 20-06-2014 10:35 PM

I thought she did a great job of interviewing Pauline.
Not easy trying to get a word in edgeways with that gobsh*te of a woman.

Not really.

The evictee interview is the evictee's opportunity to give their side of their time in the house. Not to be shouted down by the presenter.

joeysteele 20-06-2014 11:02 PM

Emma admitted she had found it hard interviewing Pauline, who wouldn't have problems with that loudmouth.

Rylan did better on bbots to be fair with her, and then although I don't like her much, well done to Vanessa on bbbots who really got going at Pauline.

Josy 20-06-2014 11:05 PM

I thought she done well

Jords 20-06-2014 11:11 PM

I thought she handled the interview and crowd well? I especially liked when she told Pauline that she didnt allow for any "poor me" at all and then signalled that she just over-talked at them using hand gestures.
