It will be tragic if we don't get to see him grace the World cup final.

Without any doubt one of the greatest of all time, but to get in the same bracket as Pele and Maradona he has to win or at least star in the World cup final.

So far it's very reminiscent of the 86 Argentina team, not the greatest team but they have a player that's on a different level to every other player in the tournament, and can win a match by himself.

He doesn't need to reach the final. If he truly shows up in the knockouts then he's made a fair claim to being GOAT tbf. Maradona would probably win the thing with this team, but he was just special.

I'd put him in the top 4 of all time at the moment, but If he wins the World cup then I'd probably say he can be called the greatest ever, because at club level I'd put him above both Maradona and Pele.
